Buried 0 #26 June 6, 2006 i have had one, a 6g, for the last 7-8 yrs. never heard any woman complain. some people dont even know i have one or found out mths/yrs later I've only kissed two women with tougue piercings and it was ok, can't say if it was any better. I'm curious how oral is and guess i'll find out at some point, but i suspect it would depend on the length and size of theirs. but then again, just b/c you have one doesn't mean you still know how to perform the action. you must be good in one thing before adding 'toys' or 'tools' into the mix. otherwise it just causes problems or doesn't 'add' anything QuotePersonally i quite like em, unless the person has a habbit of chewing on it and making constant banging of teeth and metal sounds. agreed.. those people have problems. Buried 0 #27 June 6, 2006 QuoteNo, Listerine bad. It's too harsh. Gotta use what they give you at the piercing place. they just give you the equivlant of purified water w/ salt mixture..... Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

inzite 0 #30 June 6, 2006 Kick ass!!! Congratulations on the new hardware. I've had my second tongue piercing for a year now - they're a hell-uv-a-lot-of-fun. It'll be tough to eat for 1-2 days, and then everything should be kosher. Just DON'T take it out for any extended period of time. After I got my tongue pierced the first time, I took the bar out for 45 minutes for a job interview. Immediately afterward I tried to put it back in - TOO LATE. Tongue piercings heal quick. If you take it out, you've got a maximum of about 30 minutes to put it back in. Mine was out for less than an hour, and no matter how much I tried to force the damn bar back in, I had no luck!!! They're definitely fun for kissing and..... ehm.... other purposes. I've had friends who have gone six months without noticing I have my tongue pierced. I've also got other acquaintances who noticed the piercing in 5 seconds of conversation. It all depends on how attentive your friends are.

NlghtJumper 0 #34 June 7, 2006 For those of you who have had it, how long on average did it take to get to the point where you are talking normally and it is hardly noticable? I know there are special bars you can get that are harder to see, but I need to make sure I can talk fine before I start worrying about that. specialguest 0 #35 June 7, 2006 The first time I got one, I was 18 but hadn't moved out to college yet. My mom had a strict "No Piercings In The House" rule. I got mine done and she had no idea. Being the honest girl I am though, I figured I should tell her before she finds out on her own. I was moving in two weeks anyway. Here's how the conversation went: Me: "Mom, can I talk to you in your room for a minute?" Mom: "Okay." Me: "Okay, this is not against you or your rules and I just wanted to tell you so that I am being upfront and honest. I am moving in two weeks anyway, so it really doesn't matter." Mom: starts to cry Me: "I got my tongue pierced." Mom: "What? I thought you were going to tell me you were pregnant!" Me: "Oh! No! Not at all!" Mom: "Have you had sex? Have you been drunk? Have you done drugs?" Me: "Do you really want me to answer all of those questions in one sitting?" Then she locked herself in her room and didn't speak to me for a week. divegoddess 0 #37 June 7, 2006 It'll be sore for about a week... BE CAREFUL WHEN CHEWING FOOD until you get used to having a metal rod there. Once it heals though it's freakin awesome.
NlghtJumper 0 #38 June 7, 2006 yeah i have heard anywhere from a few days up to like 2 weeks. So I am just going to take off 2 weeks or so around October probably and go back home and get it done. weegegirl 2 #39 June 7, 2006 Sweet. I've had one for about 3 years with a small break in between. Here's a few tips... - Switch to the short one ASAP (when the swelling goes away) so you don't chip your teeth. - See, I used listerine religiously while it healed and didn't think it was too harsh. I think it helped. But use something ALL the time - after eating, smoking, etc. - DO NOT "use" it too soon. It may seam okay at the time but it will swell up like a bitch after. Wait a couple of weeks... if not 3 or 4 weeks. The first time I got mine done I worked manifest. It was sooooooooo hard to talk, and people would call me on the phone just to give me shit. It was pretty funny.

Merkur 1 #49 June 7, 2006 QuoteFor those of you who have had it, how long on average did it take to get to the point where you are talking normally and it is hardly noticable? I know there are special bars you can get that are harder to see, but I need to make sure I can talk fine before I start worrying about that. I have mine now for 12 years or so. 10 of them I have been in the military and noone ever noticed. Even my parents didn't find out until 4 years ago. Talking went back to normal after 2 or 3 days. As soon as the swelling was gon I changed to a black metal(titanium?), so it is even harder to be recognized. Just don't yawn in front of others - but I think this is bad as well in the military. I used mouth wash after everything I ate or drunk (except water) for three weeks. After one week everything therefore tasted like listerine. Nowadays I am able to leave the bare out for several weeks without having any problems in putting it back in. Personally I think it is more fun (for myself) to kiss someone who has a piercing than to have one while kissing. Don't get me wrong - it's is not bad having one, but the most fun is added to the person who receives whatever you do with it. Well, while I am thinking about it, this ends up in being fun for yourself most of the times M.vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!
