Burnout/Boredom

Anybody else burned-out with their work? For me it's not so much what my job entails, more so what it doesn't.

I'm starting a new job next week which is cool, but no reason to give a guy a project when he's leaving in 2 days! I'm bored to shit!!!

Yes.... I am bored out of my mind on a daily basis. The lead programmer makes me do it all the same boring way all the time.......

Try being ADHD. Even running my own two companies, and it gets old about once a week.

Been there, done that. They put me on ritalin when I was kindergarten ('83) and I took the stuff till I was 22 or 23.

I just got tired of taking the medicine and even questioned the existance of ADD/ADHD.

ive been doing this envi stuff for 11 years, paid and volunteer and its wearing thin.

Burned out, bored, annoyed, but needing the money. The up side is I can pretty much find the same job anywhere, so I may just move and turn into a DZ rat when my apartment lease is up.

Good, at least it'll be maintainable. I hate systems where there's 23 different ways of doing the same thing, four of which will have subtle bugs that only crop up once in a blue moon.

It's easier to write code than read it, so write simple code & you'll be able to maintain it later.

Coding standards I agree with. However, when all the programmers are being left in the technology dust because she can't handle change... that hurts the company. Does that make sense?
