Revillusion 0 #79 June 8, 2006 QuoteFederal regulations have placed limits on residents work hours to an average of 80/week over a 4 week period. Thank God for that! I remember the days when the residents worked until they could no longer funtion. Looking back ... Paramedic - 24 on, 48 off ER/ICU RN - 48 to plus overtime per week Flight RN - 48 per week on base, much less actually flying missions. NOW - Full time skydiver - Probably less than 5-6 hours per week of actual "work" .... go figure VIRTUS JUNXIT MORS NON SEPARABIT
Slappie 9 #80 June 8, 2006 I'm working 50 a week right now. This is voluntary for some extra cash. I work as an International Exports Specialist for a very large tubular inspection company. Handling all the LCs (letters of credit) for inspection equipment. Mostly project work. When I'm not smothered in a project I help my co-worker with his hazardous coating materials shipments overseas. I also do general airfreight shipments to our locations around the world. Damn that sounds pretty interesting doesn't it? Well a trained monkey could do it... Pay sucks, work environment is awesome. Plus I have no real pressure from my boss as long as there aren't any snags or problems he leaves me be. dropoutdave 0 #81 June 8, 2006 105 hours a week, 15 hours a day for 14 days, sometimes 21 days straight. Well, get paid for 15 hours, don't always do 15 hours. Offshore inspector/Rope Access Technician. Sounds bad but get 6months a year off so it's worth it. ------------------------------------------------------ May Contain Nut traces...... flamingo 0 #82 June 8, 2006 I am a science graduate "student" technically, which just means they can pay me crappy money and work me into the ground. Contract says I work minimum 38 hours a week, in reality to meet deadlines I work about 50-60. But I graduate in a year, yay me! I am actually looking forward to writing my thesis because it means I get to escape the bench.
katiebear21 0 #83 June 8, 2006 When I'm behaving never less than 60 (6-6). That said, the Army is fairly liberal when you need to take care of business. Most of us stay close to work during lunch but when necessary we're allowed to take off at any time to take care of personal stuff.
