MF42 0 #1 June 9, 2006 So I screwed up a landing last weekend and gave myself a compression fracture of one of my vertebrae. (PLFs are important. Even more important than flossing.) Now I get to spend the next two weeks doing nothing active at all. I can sit in my very comfortable chair and watch movies or play on the internet. I can lie on my bed and read books. That's it. No other viable options. Please, does anybody have any ideas to keep me from losing my mind from inactivity? Matt

MF42 0 #3 June 10, 2006 While it's a matter of public record that I hate cats, and that I've been known to enjoy myself regardless of the critters' fatality rate, I am unfortunately still in too much pain to really enjoy it right now. Good suggestion though. Matt
NlghtJumper 0 #4 June 10, 2006 Last time I checked, it helps to numb some pain, and it doesn't require a lot of movement. MF42 0 #5 June 10, 2006 Another good suggestion! I'm on oxycotin and orphenadrine, which are more than enough to make the world go kinda fuzzy around the edges. Matt
NlghtJumper 0 #6 June 10, 2006 Well, shit then pass out. Thats what I would do personally. MF42 0 #7 June 10, 2006 Passing out it is then! Good times! I'm debating showing up at the DZ tomorrow or Sunday for a little while. I need to bring beer for my first jump that resulted in a broken bone. And it would be good to personally thank everybody who helped take care of me. I'm just not sure about scaring away new business by wandering around in my Frankenstein back brace. Matt
SpeedRacer 1 #8 June 10, 2006 QuotePLFs are important. Even more important than flossing that would be a GREAT sig line! sorry to hear that happened. I'd suggest drinking heavily, but what do I know. MF42 0 #9 June 10, 2006 I adapted that line from one of the Darwin Awards; one of the very few awarded to somebody still living. The idiot stuck a pistol into the waistband of his jeans because he'd seen it done on tv. The gun fired, removing his balls; thus was he taken out of the gene pool and made eligible for the Award. The story concluded "Holsters, men. It's even more important than flossing." Matt
