goofyjumper 0 #51 June 5, 2006 O.K. I still vote for the Farm but, if everyone wants Tullahoma then I guess that would be the next bet. But please remember that the Tally crew has a long funking drive as it is. And alot of the orfuns come from Tallahassee! And Robbie, I am not lobbying!----------------- I love and Miss you so much Honey! Orfun #3 ~ Darla
CSpenceFLY 1 #52 June 5, 2006 My thoughts in no real order - Farm ,it's already been there. This would only be appropriate if the Orfuns are claming a "home" dropzone - Tullahoma, TN ,I've never been there, might be fun, should be easy to get a plane - Mountain Boogie (Andrews, NC) Orfuns would be welcome at the Mountain Boogie - West Coast anywhere ,Too far for most Orfuns but there is an event being planned out there in Sept. - St Mary’s ,Don't know anything about this airport or the local climate towards jumpers - Chester SC ,I'm going to Chester in two weeks, this is fine if you do it then - Statesboro, GA ,No camping on the airport - St George SC ,Great place and a whole dropzone of Orfuns that would probably come out to support this - Destin, FL ,Going to Destin next week. You better hurry if your going to have it there. - McMinnville ,I think with proper planning this would be a good spot also.I think we could get Marvin to help us. I hope it doesn't take y'all as long to decide this as it did to get the T-shirts. .

chaoskitty 0 #54 June 5, 2006 Tullahoma: Yes it should be easy to get a plane, but the DZ has an owner, and if we're not flying his plane or operating under his supervision, then what kind of liability is that? If Tullahoma is a serious consideration, might want to talk to Mike about it.
Thanatos340 1 #55 June 5, 2006 Im curious why Rome didn’t make your List?? You got Something against us Romans?? Its is Close by for everyone. There is NO current DZ operation there. It has a Great Long History. Tullahoma would be Great but like Kitty said, Mullins currently owns that DZ and is operating it once a Month.. (Not that that is a bad thing.. Its a great thing but it doesn’t qualify as a Former DZ) Bringing Marvin outa retirement would be a cool thing too if it could be done.
jumpoutnow 0 #56 June 5, 2006 Hey Robbie, What about combining THE ORFUN BOOGIE with the once a month ALL YOU CAN JUMP BOOGIE? At THE FARM! More bang for your buck! Excellent camping and facilities!People are crazy. Cuz there's more of 'em.
lauraliscious 0 #57 June 5, 2006 I DO Like the Rome idea.... didn't even think about that one. Okay, I vote for Rome too! Enemiga Rodriguez, PMS #369, OrFun #25, Team Dirty Sanchez #116, Pelt Head #29, Muff #4091

Tennessee Skydiving, LLC, would be happy to support your birthday boogie at Tullahoma with the Super King Air for a full weekend, two day, event if we can get the required support from the jumpers. All you need to do is call us. You can reach me anytime on my cell at 901-355-2629. By the way, you cannot simply rent an aircraft and operate at the airport without a lease in place or an agreement with the City, nor is there any need to as our established DZ would be happy to support you there. We have also acquired a very nice cargo door Twin Beech that we will be basing there full time in the near future. We are installing the door, windows, and basically overhauling the airframe now. hisgoofyness 0 #59 June 5, 2006 If it could be organized (& o.k.'d with the airport); Rome would be a great spot! Especially since the closure of Rome left me without a home... although, I must say, The Farm has been really great to us! I do miss my old home in Rome. So many great memories! Hell the "Tree People" may come out of the woodwork too... Bringing Marvin out would be a blast as well! Therefore, my vote is now: 1) Rome 2) McMinnville 3) Tullahoma 4) The Farm Chris made a good point in that the boogie should move around. Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me! CSpenceFLY 1 #60 June 5, 2006 I don't think anyone was suggesting doing it there without including you.How would you feel about a boogie in McMinnville? .
michaelmullins 81 #61 June 5, 2006 QuoteI don't think anyone was suggesting doing it there without including you.How would you feel about a boogie in McMinnville? . Tullahoma is exactly 35 miles from McMinnville. At Tullahoma we have an air-conditioned building with manifest, computers, radios, telephone, etc, set up, we have a much better landing area, closer restaurants and motels, everything is better and easier. At McMinnville (and I have done at least 5 boogies there) we have porta-potties, no facilities, need to bring everything (which is a pain in the ass), a landing area that is basically a hole, and none of the support that we have at a regular DZ. We also need to ferry the airplane, equipment, etc which costs money that ultimately comes out of the jumpers pocket. What would be the point of going 35 miles just to make things more difficult? We would be glad to do it at Tullahoma or even Memphis where we have superb facilites (absolutely the best in the country) including swimming pool, air-conditioned packing, RV hookups, beautiful landing area, etc. Mike Mullins 901-355-2629

michaelmullins 81 #65 June 5, 2006 QuoteI guess my point was missed and made at the same time. . I am not sure what point I missed. I took no offense at any of the preceding posts nor did I mean to suggest that anyone was doing anything even vaguely improper. I am simply trying to respond to the needs and desires of the skydivers and give them the best event possible. Sometimes it is hard to convey a tone when you are typing and if I was perceived hostile or offended then I apologize for the misunderstanding. No seriously, I'd love to come back to The Farm. Y'all are top notch and it'd be great to see you all again, esp. if it was during an all you can jump boogie. either way, I'm down, but Tullahoma was my original home dz, where my first jump was made and where I went through AFF. I haven't jumped there since Chris Martin died. It'd just be nice to go back, that's all... I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...

chaoskitty 0 #73 June 5, 2006 That would be fun! I still vote for Tullahoma. Especially since Mike will fly the plane all weekend. The airport is HUGE.. even Kelly could land on it! Theres some good redneck bars in town we can take over too. So whenever we decide the "where".. theres still the question of "when" ?
