Today is Flag Day

Recommended Posts

Its a day of retirement for unservicable US Flags. Today organizations like the American Legion will be holdint flag retirement ceremonies to properly dispose of worn out and soiled US flags.

There is a proper method that should be done to retire a US Flag, most people don't realize it and simply throw them away. That's too bad.

Although I don't know, I would hope that other countries have similar proceedures in place to show the respect for their country's flag.

Sure its just a piece of cloth, but it represents many many things beyond just a symbol for a country.

It was orginally created as the birthday of our US Flag.
