8 glasses a day?

Recommended Posts

Is it just me, or is the ADA recommended 8 glasses of water a day really excessive? I'm on my 4th bottle of water and I have to pee every 20 minutes. How much water do you drink?

:)

WAAAAAYYYY more than that. Probably 6-8 liters a day... if not more.

I drink anywhere from 4 - 6 24 oz bottles a day.

At first your body will flush, but after a while the bathroom visits will go back to normal.

how do you do this and function??? Do you have to pee all the time?

:o

Depends on your definition of "all the time." :D On average probably once every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I've been drinking tons of water for years; I think your body adjusts. I just find I crave more than most people. I get headaches or just general body "meh" feeling if I don't drink a lot of water.

Oh, and I think there's other benefits, too. I have very clear skin and I'm regularly told I look younger than I am.:)

I use a 32 oz nalgene bottle and fill it up. Much easier to get through your daily requirement that way. I usually fill it up 3 or 4 times....so i'm gettin plenty...

and I usually have to go about every hour or hour and half...haha
Puttin' some stank on it.

In a day I probably drink around 180 ounces of water. I don't drink pop or coffee so that makes it easier.

The benefits are great. The best one (not really) is when I do go drinkning (very seldom) I'm never hungover because I'm not dehydrated. I'm not sure if it's the water or not but that's what I tell people.

I drink alot of water/fluids. And I have to pee quite often, too. You should see me in manifest begging someone to watch it so I can go.

*Note-The bathroom is 3 buildings over, so it's not just a simple hop, skip and jump to go potty. [:/]

Normal as in....every 2 hours? I just started being diligent about my water. What am I flushing out?

Well, when I was in Basic and AIT all I was allowed to drink was water. I drank more than 8 glasses a day. After a little while, your body just gets use to it. It also helps if you keep really active and work off a lot of that water before it hits your bladder.

12 cups per day. I've done this for years. Four at breakfast, four at lunch, and four at dinner. I usually chug them down. It all comes out at once then.

I've noticed that I definitely feel more perky than normal. It makes me think I've been dehydrated for years! Including while I was running in college.

dead things mikey, dead things.

I drink over 64 oz a day that I keep track of. I should really drink more with the activity level I'm at and the heat isn't helping these days. Such is what salt/magnesium tablets are for.

I don't really notice that I'm running to the bathroom every two hours, but now that I think about it.... usually mid morning (around 10 a.m.), then at lunch, then mid afternoon, and again before I leave the office in the evening.... So I guess that's about right... :S:D

I usually combine my potty trips with re-fill on the water and green tea so I don't notice or concentrate that I'm having to pee I guess....

Atleast that many. I have a Bottle of water at all times on my desk. Probably 6 Bottles a day easy..

Yes, I gotta go Drain the Lizzard about one an hour but that just gives me an excuse to get off ass and walk down the hall. Another Benefit far as I’m concerned.

When you start on the water routine, you do go to the bathroom and awful lot..... but it definitely slows down about 4days to a week into it.

And if you were running.... I'm guessing you may have been dehydrated as they usually say runners should almost have double the intake. ;)

Water is also extremely good to keep a good complexion. When I get facials done, the only time I've had complaints of how my face looked is when I was dehydrated. [:/]
