NlghtJumper 0 #1 June 17, 2006 I am running into more and more nights where I just can't seem to fall asleep. I can lay in bed for house and still be wide awake. I would try sleep aides but I rarely am able to have the time to commit to the full 8 hours of sleep. Its hard enough for me to be able to wake up when I need to already without adding extra help (I have slept thru earth quakes, shuttle launches, buglar alarms, fire alarms, and god knows what else) Is there anything I can do to help this issue? I stopped trying that one when I was 15.. I stocked up on mountain dew in hopes that it will keep me awake! NlghtJumper 0 #13 June 18, 2006 He is cool, he usually lets me pass out on the couch for the last 4-6 hours of duty, and then just wakes me up to tell me I am allowed to go. I am pretty young.. only been in the service for 2 years. But I have been thru a lot. First duty station, Germany. 6 months after getting here, I got deployed to Afghanistan. Hunter Army Airfield is looking for people, which I really want to go there so I have my fingers crossed. Its like a 4 hour drive away from home so I could go home on weekends if something was going on. NlghtJumper 0 #17 June 18, 2006 No, see you have 15Q [Air Traffic Controllers] that watch aircraft as they fly in and out of a specific airfield. They only care about that airfield. 15Ps on the other hand, deal with the individual aircraft and pilots through all parts of their mission. They have to go through us before getting full approval for their mission. We get their take off times and landing times for EVERY location they fly to. And we watch them on radar-like equiptment to make sure they fly where they are suposta and dont run into trouble. When deployed we also handled every medevac mission and QRF mission. If any soldier was in trouble on the battlefield, we could have an aircraft spooled and gone in no time. Why is it that if it wasnt for the CH-47's that carried the 11-B's out there, then they would have taken A LOT longer to get to where they were? 15's dont rely on the 11's, the 11's rely on the 15's! And everyone in the field rushes into battle happily knowing that there will always be someone on the other side of that radio [sitting behind that desk] there to take their call for help incase they get over their head...
