the warning signs

Recommended Posts

I was talking to a buddy of mine the other day about single-hood. He was discussing his own personal warning signs. The things that just step up and say "Whoa"

His biggest one was, "If she is good-looking, personality, etc... why is she single ?"

I'm old, grumpy, drunk, and broke. Unfortunately, that tends to overshadow my other Sterling Qualities. :)
Everybody seems want perfection (or at least have some kind of minimum standards :D).

People usually don't have much acceptance for individuality. There is a pre-rec for being like everyone else. In most minds if you're different...you're a freak. This is not the case. To be unique is an an amazing concept... one that more should not let go of. IMO. ;) Have a good one!

I think that my buddy is just being cautious. He has a good life now.

He made a good point. If someone is just "speed dating" through the phone book, it doesn't matter. A relationship is someone that you spend some time with. That is worth a little caution.

I like to discuss things with him because I have no sense at all. I see the wisdom, just can't assimilate it.

As long as they keep baiting the trap the same way, I'll keep stepping in it. ;)

Skydivers are the ultimate in "center of attention".
A lot of time, it is not individuality as much as just doing something odd to be farther "out there" than others.

The most dangerous time on a dz is a weather day. People get too inventive. :D

The Halloween parties are better than anywhere. :)

I agree...But, In some cases there is a deeper understanding of reality. However creepy it may be...there are people, who understand & accept life on a different level. Sometimes overspoken...this does not change what they've been blessed to know. IMO. ;) Hindsight is a beautiful thing. Good luck!

I'm getting used to you having no point. :D I was just saying "Okay" because I really couldn't come up with anything else to advance the conversation.

And I don't do "flying buttleaps." My standards aren't ridiculous or built on some "list" of criteria, but they are high.

But I like the imagery of the flying buttleaps.

I just noticed that a lot of people have "show stoppers".
Things that are just... "do you wear that pirate costume everywhere?" - but on a more subtle scale.

I have a general warning sign. If someone has been involved in a situation before, they probably will again. I just may, or may not, want to be the other party during the event rerun.

Hence the name "general" warning sign.

Example, if someone tells you about the 27 times that they were arrested for drunk and disorderly... HINT!

I just believe that people tell ya if you listen.

I knew generally what you were getting at, it just couldn't possibly have been worded more vaguely or indecisively. :P

And they show you if you just pay attention. I get very frustrated with hearing people bitch "but s/he said [whatever]" when his/her actions indicate [exact opposite of whatever]."

I'm keeping a careful eye on your subterfuge. I am not fooled. :)

You're just using big words to try to impress me. :P

People usually get it with time. Life is one huge learning process. If they are content, their lives will continue as they are. That's cool. Fortunately, everyone is different. We all learn at different speeds...If you strive for your dream, you can achieve this. If... you want & work for it. IMO. Have a great one! ;) Your opinion is valued.
