kelel01 1 #1 June 21, 2006 Ok, so apparently I fucked up BIG TIME, and I don't get my student loans for the summer. I'm gonna shoot myself. That was my credit card payment money, my skydiving money, my TRAVELING money. I seriously want to cry right now. And my student loans for the fall are so FUCKING SMALL that they don't even cover tuition.

brierebecca 0 #8 June 21, 2006 There's also the Bank of Dad... Brie"Ive seen you hump air, hump the floor of the plane, and hump legs. You now have a new nickname: "Black Humper of Death"--yardhippie
kelel01 1 #9 June 21, 2006 Unfortunately, the bank of Dad is broke. But I did just get approved for a loan through my credit union, although I don't yet know at what interest rate. It'd be enough to consolidate my debts, pay my summer tuition, and have a smidge of fun with. Not getting too excited yet, though.
wmw999 2,589 #10 June 21, 2006 There's also the cut back on vacation so you can work option. Then take some of the savings and take a good camping trip late in the summer right before school starts again. Then you have fewer loans to pay off in the long run. Thanatos340 1 #11 June 21, 2006 Kele.. I hate to say this but this may be a blessing in disguise.. Using Student Loans for "credit card payment money, my skydiving money, my TRAVELING money" is not the best idea. I did the same thing when I was in College. I have spent past 12 years paying off those loans. (I almost FINALLY have them paid off) Yes it was a Fairly low interest rate.. But you do have to pay it back. I didn’t really think about that when I was still in college. It was just like free money at the time and I treated it as such. Big mistake.
Muffin 0 #12 June 21, 2006 When my college funding ran out, I got hired on as staff - free or really discounted tuition. I paid $3 a semester. I dont know if your program would let you do your classes around work hours, but it worked out for me...

kelel01 1 #18 June 21, 2006 Well, those were the ancillary benefits. And it was only for one semester. It was also my TUITION money (for Spring and Summer), which is currently on a credit card at a 20+% interest rate. I was gonna pay that off. Guess I'll just do that through other means. skymama 37 #25 June 21, 2006 I hate sounding like such a mom, but do you have any time at all to get a second job at night? When I was working a second job at Dillard's for my rig money, there were a lot of women who were going there at night and weekends after their regular jobs. If you can't do that, look around at what you could sell or at what expenses you can cut back on. I hate to say it too, but when my bank account is getting light, skydiving is the first thing to go.
