Safety Day at MY DZ

Recommended Posts

What is YOUR DZ doing for safety day? I think Dallas has some great ideas here for getting people out on safety day. Build it, and they will come...(give it away free and they will come) Yeah people should go anyway, but let's face it, not everybody will!

Subject: Jump Free at Skydive Dallas on Safety Day...
Date: Wed, 28 Feb 2001 20:09:38 EST
That's right, March 10th, you can get one free jump from either our Super
Otter or Caravan. All you have to do is take your rig to our gear check
station. If you meet the manufacturers recommendations on placarded weights
on your main and reserve, you get a free jump. It's that simple. (Before
you ask, No, you don't get two jumps if you have two rigs.)
You can earn a $10 jump from the turbines just by attending the seminars, and
practicing your emergency procedures. We want to encourage everyone to give
a little thought towards their own safety, and taking care of the friends
around us.
We have a lot planned for Safety Day!
Seminars on: Freefly Safety
Emergency Procedures
Canopy Control (Including High Performance Canopies)
Videography Safety
Aircraft Procedures
Gear and Equipment Choices and Maintenance
Mental and Physical Preparedness
Some of these seminars will be panel discussions, so you'll get to hear more
than one point of view. The objective isn't to preach the same old stuff to
you, but to get everyone to share ideas and information. We've designed the
seminars so that they will appeal to all levels of skydivers from student to
expert and beyond.
We want to make sure everyone comes out and participates, so we plan to keep
it upbeat, and fun. THIS ISN'T THE SAME OLD BORING SAFETY MEETING.
We'll provide Beer and Music after the seminars. Bo's back by popular demand
to feed us. He said to tell everyone that he's going to feed us a first
class dinner at special prices, because he wants to keep all his skydiving
buddies safe. If you've eaten with Bo before, you know he's not kidding
about how good the food is. Just sign up for dinner at the Cafe.
We haven't worked out all the scheduling details, so keep tuned for more
information. We'll probably have a "Plan B" in the event of bad weather, so
plan on being here rain or shine. I'll update you as soon as we work out the
details.
Remember: SAFETY DAY at SKYDIVE DALLAS, on Saturday, March 10, 2001. Come
out for a great day of skydiving, and then an evening of camaraderie, and
sharing. Be there!
If you have any questions, or recommendations about topics, give us a call.
See you on the 10th!
Joe Rekart, dzo
