The Value of “Stuff”

Recommended Posts

I hired a company to hold an auction of my Mom’s personal property last Saturday. It was in a small “poor” former mill town in North Carolina. I didn’t expect to get much from it.

Apparently, some silver certificates went for $10 each. It’s a wonder they weren’t thrown out. I didn't even know that they were there. :o

My Dad had a German helmet from WWII. It went for $200!!! :o:o:o

I wonder what these things would have brought on eBay? I wonder if I have any hidden treasures in my house for my children to find after I’m gone???
What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy

We just moved into our new house about two months ago. It's pier and beam foundation, and we had to have some work done on it to get the loan. My husband was down there checking it out when he discovered a box with antique flatware in it's original box and an old auto-harp. The flatware set is worth a pretty penny Don't know about the auto-harp but it's pretty neat.

Kinda exciting finding those things unexpectedly. BTW, we checked with the previous owner and she's not missing anything of the kind, so who knows how long it's been under there.
