MF42 0 #1 July 3, 2006 The past several Independence Days I've lived in fairly large cities where the cops seriously crack down on fireworks. Now I live in some relative boonies, and the word on the street is fireworks are technically illegal, but the cops generally let it slide as long as nothing gets burnt down. Fireworks were a major no no on the state property, but I lived right at the edge of the park where it joins up with county beach that goes pretty much uncontrolled. I got a full fireworks show every night for at least a week on either side of the 4th, if not longer. It was great for a few days, and for a few hours each day, but after midnight...1am...2am... I picked up a large quantity of regular blackcats or whatever they are, just noisemakers, and have had a lot of fun at my family reunion the last few days lighting them off in the vicinity of unsuspecting family members. No heart attacks yet! I've gained a whole new respect for fireworks and the the places where they should and shouldn't be set off since I've been fighting wildfires this past year. Three small ones lately were all fireworks related.Killing threads since 2004. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites bloody_trauma 2 #4 July 3, 2006 where i am the fireworks the neighboors use kill you due to the large schrapnel chunks that tear through your vehicle, I remember when i came home from iraq last time to germany, i was back for about 5 days and there was a fireworks show planned that I kinda knew about but didn't pay attention to when it was going to be, and when they started settin em off i flipped out and fell to the ground and wondered where my kevlar was, then a few days later the german military was firing thier artillery about 500m away from us...
