My Grandmother was roommate and close friend of the first woman to swim the English channel Gertrude Ederle I have a photo of them swimming together Another interesting part of this little tid bit is that my Grandmother was one of the first models for the shoe store Nordstrom Best. The store today is now commonly known as "Nordstrom".
The photos that I have are really something. Nordstrom also ran a series of back to school photos that included my Grandmother and my Mother when she was a child. I would say those are some of my prized possessions
