weegegirl 2 #1 July 5, 2006 Some biotch tried to kill my sister and her family this weekend. They were on the highway, on their way home from buying JackJack his big boy matttress... graduating from his crib... and pulled over in the emergency lane to tighten it down. My sister told her husband to get back in the car because it was too dangerous. As soon as he got back in the car and clicked his seatbelt on, some biotch who was driving in the emergency lane plowed into the back of them going over 60 mph. EVERYONE was very lucky. My sister, her husband, and my nephews spent the rest of the holiday in the hospital recovering from whiplash and cuts and bruises. The boys were mostly okay, as kids are made of rubber. The woman, who's car was completely gone up to the windshield wipers walked away with a small scratch on her leg. They arrested her for reckless driving. Let me tell you, if I ever see her, she will have a lot more than a small scratch on her leg. Nobody hurts my Jeffrey and JackJack.

Scoop 0 #5 July 5, 2006 QuoteAs soon as he got back in the car and clicked his seatbelt on Lucky man. I think some people should have licence removed permanantly. Its for emergancy access ONLY. Also if someone isn't observant enough to realise this or see a stationary vehicle ahead they should never have a licence Also the boy in lower of the two pics looks much like on eof my nephews

And the law suits start . . . That little accident should net them enough to send the kids through college - As long as the cunt had insurance - I hate that the kids were involved - But SO GLAD that noone was too badly injured -I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
weegegirl 2 #8 July 5, 2006 I doubt they will sue her. They should though!! But they are not the revenge type. I guess they are all having really bad nightmares and whatnot. I am headed to see them straight from work with a giant bag of goodies for the kids. My sister told me she would like the woman to replace the mattress that got ruined in the wreck. I told her she's crazy and they deserve a lot more than a damn mattress. Oh, well.
SkydiveStMarys 0 #9 July 5, 2006 I am sure they are in some state of shock...when they get to thinking about what could have happened, the anger will set in and then...watch out!! I am sure that they will want more then just the mattress replaced..... BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. weegegirl 2 #12 July 5, 2006 Quotedid they do any toxicology on that driver when they arrested her? i seriously wondered the same thing, but i don't think it was a dui. i think the woman was trying to get around traffic or something. i will get more details tonight. i just know it could have been very very very bad. Michele 1 #13 July 5, 2006 I am so thankful they are all going to be all right in the end. Man, some people!! I can completely understand your fury - I'd be the same if it were my family. As for the nightmares, time will help with those. After I was hit by a car (when I was 6, no permanent injuries, consussed and badly bruised though), I didn't let anyone I knew cross the street if there was a car anywhere near (like, within vision). Made taking a walk very tough for a while, but I eventually got over it (and yes, I had nightmares for a time, too...). When hit, I was crossing with the light in a crosswalk - dude jumped a red at about 20 mph and took me out. But time, and lots of goodies, will help. You're a good auntie, and are rightfully proud of those little men - gorgeous and sweet looking. Rebecca 0 #15 July 5, 2006 Um, seriously Weege, I hope they're being advised to sue by a good lawyer who will make sure they're FULLY covered. I'm SO GLAD they're OK!! edit: Krisanne said what I meant better than I did. I was just under the impression somehow that she (the driver) didn't think she was in the wrong and might balk at paying damages. Since she was at fault, would her insurance company be obligated to pay, or is there some latitude there? you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? NWFlyer 2 #19 July 5, 2006 QuoteUm, seriously Weege, I hope they're being advised to sue. Actually, I'd say try getting an attorney and working towards an insurance settlement first. Getting adequately compensated for everything associated with this accident doesn't necessarily have to involve the legal system. I had the exact same reaction when I was hit by a car as a pedestrian. "Oh, no, I don't want to sue, I just want everything covered." I kept that attitude throughout, but also realized that I'd need to work with an attorney to make sure that I was able to navigate the complexities of multiple insurance companies and the complexity of the process in general. However, I can say that after having gone through it all, and even after giving my attorney 1/3, I got what I consider a very fair settlement and compensation for damages. Full coverage of all of my care, loss of work time, plus a good chunk of change for general damages. The rush to sue is probably premature here. Get an attorney to help you, but work through the insurance system first. It may be very possible to get what you want/need without having to sue anyone (the woman or her insurance company)."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please.
