Shoots, and often the entire plant are weakened by severe attacks. Danger period: From late spring on Treatment: Remove and dispose of affected foliage and plant parts, including fallen leaves, off site. For serious outbreaks, apply mancozeb, benomy, copper hydroxide, lime sulfur, or chloronthalonil according to label instructions. It's been my experience that it is in the soil, and will probably be there in that spot all season. I would suggest that you containerize your plant in waiting and hold off on planting it until next season, if you insist on putting it in that spot. What you have is a fungus that has splashed up onto the leaves, probably thru water splashing up, and infected that plant. Let that area dry out after you treat it, so the fungus dies, and doesn't spread. DO NOT add the infected plant or parts to your compost heap. The entire compost heap will become infected. He went out and came back in several times...and then went back to the other house for the night. But he is so oblivious to anything that doesn't relate directly to Turtle, that the fucker didn't bother to tell me that I might want to move my truck out from under the trees that were so weighted down with frozen precipation that the branches were breaking. I happened to go out to unplug all of my Christmas decorations about 3:30 a.m. and saw this one branch almost touching the cab of the truck and freaked out. Of course, it had been raining all day and night and it was all frozen. The doors were frozen shut and the keyhole was frozen over. After a lot of work in the rain, ice and cold...I managed to get into the truck on the passenger side. I turned the truck on and then had to sit there forever for the defroster to work well enough to remove some of the ice so I could see out the windshield enough to move the truck forward some. boinky 0 #37 July 7, 2006 Poor little rose bush. The worst part is that we are only renting this place and all the work and supplies come out of pocket. There is no reimbursement from the landlord. I do this just because I want a beautiful back yard to enjoy. The attached picture is what the yard looked like before I added the rose garden. But I will keep the other rose bush in its container and hope it lives. They don't do so well in those containers, but at least it's not those plastic bags that the cheap ones come in. I'll try to hit Lowe's for something for the blackspot, but it may be after Skyfest. Thanks to you and everyone else (except for the thread hijackers) for your great advice!
