woodpecker 0 #1 July 8, 2006 We are still calling leaving the aircraft "JUMPING" right? and what is it called if we are rear float and actually just letting go of the airframe? After reading posts on sit flying/head up flying/butt down flying...falling/flying....etc. Just want to make sure that I'm still using the correct terminology. I would hate to be "that guy" when I get to the DZ today. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on? woodpecker 0 #3 July 8, 2006 I like it. Of course, are we actually considered cargo? We could be passengers as well. Technically, we have paid to get from point A) ground to point B) alititude. Thou jettisonable passenger just doesnt sound good. I can see the headlines now: JETTISONABLE CARGO BURNED IT AT XXXX DROPZONE when..... Just a little food for thought, so take off the sleep goggles and lets crack this thing. I'm off to the DZ in 2.5 hours. bbarnhouse 0 #6 July 8, 2006 QuoteI like it. Of course, are we actually considered cargo At one point in time when skydiving was new that is exactly what skydivers were called. LOL My how things have changed. Actually you aren't a passenger. As a passanger you would have to land somewhere with the aircraft. At that point the aircraft would be carrying passengers for hire and would no longer fall under part 91. Yup you is "jettisonable cargo" Bwahhhhhhhh edit to say...jumper...you jump from an aircraft. We certainly dont "leap" although we have been known to "fall off" LOL
