steelyeye 0 #1 July 26, 2007 Anyone have any advice about where to purchase and what to look for in a pull force scale? All the ones I have seen/used have been of the old "spring" variety, but some of the digital fish scales on the market (fish scale) look like they would do a good job. I don't know if they record the maximum pull force. Thanks! "Better a has-been than a never-was. Better a never-was than a never-tried-to-be..." kenneth21441 0 #2 July 27, 2007 ive always used a 22 and 25 pound weight bag, attached to the ripcord lightly. 22 pounds should deploy and I use the 25 pound one 2nd. that is the only scalable method that I know and use.Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith
DSE 5 #3 July 27, 2007 this one records the break point I assume it works as well. A local rigger borrowed mine for a few weeks, and then left it in my cabinet before moving away.
