Man, that was definitely the ugliest match I have seen in a long time. The Netherlands were the better team for 80% of the match, they just failed to score.
I'm totally not impressed with Portugal's performance and I sure hope that England kicks them out of the tournament, which I doubt though.
You can't really blame the referee for all the yellow and red cards, in fact there should have been more (Figo should have been sent off for his attack on van Bommel for example...).
Let's hope that Figo tries something equally dumb against Rio Ferdinand or Sol Campbell...

I wouldn't doubt it too much -- I'm pretty sure that these red cards carry over into the next round. So Portugal is going to be missing Deco and Costinha...that already is a big advantage for England.
I hate seeing Holland lose, the ball just wouldn't go in the f.cking goal for them, argh!

But let's be honest here: England sucked ass today. They really have to take their heads out of their butts and start playing the way we know they can if they want to stand a chance against Portugal - with or without Deco/Costinha.

And Ronaldo may be injured as well which sucks! The ref was crazy last night though, most of the players had a yellow card by the end of the game. Sure the Netherlands looked better for most of the game but you forget that Portugal were one man down for most of the game. There was a brief period after Holland got a red card when they were both at 10 men but Portugal was down to 9 soon after that. Kudos to the boys for managing to hold on against such a strong Holland attack. The defence has improved so much!
Hopefully it won't be a repeat of the England-Portugal game in 2002. This time Portugal should win in normal time!

No, the worst call of the tournament was the red card given to Materazzi earlier in the game. Consider that "come-uppance." Oh, and that wasn't a bad call. Did you see the defender raise his elbows when he was on the ground? The attacker tripped over him perhaps a bit selectively, but it was obstruction nonetheless since the defender did *not* win that ball.
Funny how when anyone else in the world is fouled, it's ok...and when an Italian is fouled, the ref is fixed and/or it's called diving. Hate all you want playa...bring 'em on in the quarters baby.

The red card was undeserved, so was the penalty.
Too many games in this tournament are being influenced by referee decisions, some of them border line at best, others truly idiotic.

some of the customers had found a set of rabbit ears and were disassembling the video closed circuit system (that the students watch their video on as it's being edited) just to watch this silly little game.
It would get put back together and then after another load it would be hooked back up to the antennae.
What is so funny is that it wasn't any jumper that was doing it - it was one of the tandem students dad - he just walked around unpluging wires and pluging in the rabbit ears.
