FlyingJ 0 #26 June 10, 2006 Nope, down south of Gainesville now, still volunteering with AmeriCorps. Still no more jumping until I'm done w/ AmeriCorps and start making some money again. A lot harder this year because I pass Williston and Palatka all the time and am always reminded of how much I miss it. Have been doing some ride alongs in Life Flight helicopters and can never think of anything but jumping out! Don't know anything about the WC this year. Just watched a couple matches this morning. Would love to see someone come from nowhere to win some games kind of like Camaroon did back in 90 or 91. That was actually the last time I watched... T&T did alright against Sweeden today, especially a man down for 1/2 the game.Killing threads since 2004.
Jill_UK 0 #27 June 11, 2006 based on last nights performance i might have to change my views on england doing anything constructive during the world cup oh well england do have a track record of messing up the first game, so all may be good... it might also help if we don't get ridiculous refs that feel the need to book people for no apparent reason
skinnyshrek 0 #28 June 11, 2006 i think the ref had it in for crouch. skymama 37 #29 June 11, 2006 I was on vacation with my kids this weekend and my son still made us watch the games in the hotel room! He's rooting for Portugal. He said, "all of you who don't like soccer, just go back to watching baseball where the players sit on the bench, chew tobacco and get fat." She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
BETO74 0 #30 June 11, 2006 I agree with you so does Germany a little disapointed yes they won their games but they don't look strong as they used to, maybe because they have the older players in the world cuphttp://web.mac.com/ac057a/iWeb/AC057A/H0M3.html

masterblaster72 0 #33 June 11, 2006 QuoteI think it will be Italy.. they will be so happy playing away from home after the game fixing scandal in the local league! That and they have maybe the best keeper in the world. Finally, someone else who realizes the truth. Refreshing. masterblaster72 0 #37 June 11, 2006 QuoteEuro 2000??? That's f.cking cruel. I'm still hurting from that game, and it's been six years. Ouch. Nice to have had a ref to award you more minutes of extra time than were warranted...great team nonetheless. popsjumper 2 #38 June 11, 2006 Coming from a Brit, I was surprised to see "soccer" in the title. I don't care who wins...I just like to see good futbol being played. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Dancergirl 0 #40 June 11, 2006 Quotei'm saying England, but i'm biased i'm in new zealand so all the games are in the middle of the night, which is kind of annoying and it's really weird not being in England for all the hype! England can't play Brazil in the final because of the groop seedings... if England win their group, then they will play Brazil in the Semi-final I'm glad a competition has started that teams from the whole of the world participate in, its the WORLD cup... with teams from all around the world competing in not like the WORLD series in baseball, where only teams form America compete in I'm glad america is shit at any games the whole world competes in, we don't want their arogance spoiling it for the rest how good are america at cricket? or rugby (real game for men, not those faggots who need body armour on) or football ..... guess those sports will never be big in yankyland while they can't fit in adverts every 30 seconds

skymama 37 #43 June 11, 2006 QuoteTell them to root for england as one you are dating one and 2 we make the best steak and kidney pies in the world My son, Nick, won't even root for the same premiere team that my bf likes! Nick likes Man United and the bf Liverpool. Nick is going to Manchester and London this week for soccer training. I don't think I'll be able to get him to try a steak and kidney pie because of the word "kidney" being in the title. He said he won't even be trying fish and chips because he hates fried food. There's something wrong with that boy. skinnyshrek 0 #44 June 11, 2006 just tell him the wife thought the same thing. Only thing she didnt try was the fish she hates the smell and black pudding. Only because she knows what is in it. Even her dad loved the food. The steak and kidney pudding is a must with gravy, mushy peas and chips/french fries...mmmmmmmmhttp://www.skydivethefarm.com do you realize that when you critisize people you dont know over the internet, you become part of a growing society of twats? tumbler 0 #45 June 11, 2006 Sounds like you don't care for those of us in the states much Now that Futbol is starting to take hold here in the states we may find that the team we field is pretty good. I remember when we beat Mexico and the tears of how the US has now taken the last thing that Mexico had... thought that was funny. Of course if will be a long time, if ever, that in this sport we compete at a champions level. Oh and all those medals the US won in the Olympics.. guess those weren't against the rest of the world.
