weegegirl 2 #1 July 11, 2006 So my brother finished building his latest and greatest experimental plane. "My new plane is done and signed off by the FAA as "Airworthy". Of course they don't have to get in and test fly the thing. " He was supposed to fly it for the first time on Saturday, but after many successful starts and test runs, it would not start that morning. I got word from him last night that he fixed the problem and today should be the big day. "I finally found the semi-loose ground wire that was the problem. A plane that won't start is truly a safe plane, but not much fun. Tomorrow is THE day if the wind is right and I feel good about going up." So, I am anxiously awaiting the good word!!!!!! I know it's cloudy there, but the winds are low, and I don't know what the ceiling is at. There is something so nerve racking yet freaking exciting as hell every time my brother takes one of his new toys up for the first time. He got this one specifically with me in mind. "Soon you can jump from my plane."

weegegirl 2 #4 July 11, 2006 I just emailed him from the edge of my seat demanding pictures, but he is probably out flying as opposed to sitting there with his thumb up his arse. And as far as what kind of plane, I feel like a muppet having forgotten exactly. I asked him that too, but the bastard is too busy enjoying life to get back to his lil sis. weegegirl 2 #7 July 11, 2006 Plane is a RANS s-6-s taildragger. Two place side by side. 100 hp engine, 100mph cruise. He's putting it on floats this summer maybe, next for sure. "Flew 1/2 the length of a 6000 foot runway today. about 30 feet max height. Oil preassure was a tad off so I landed and am investigating." He's going to send me pictures later but he left his camera at the hangar. DOH!

Put some floats on it Who needs jump doors "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." MF42 0 #10 July 11, 2006 Oooooo, neato airplane!Ummm, he took off, even for a short hop, with questionable oil pressure? Or the oil pressure dropped after takeoff? Matt
weegegirl 2 #11 July 11, 2006 i think he noticed it off after takeoff. trust me on this... he has been flying and building planes for at LEAST 30 years now. He thinks we are all crazy for voluntarily jumping out of them, but he is passionate about planes the way most of us are about air baths. He is also ultra conservative. I doubt he would put all that time into building something to throw it all away by jumping the gun. and yeah, it's a cool looking plane. but last time i saw it it was still relatively in peices. i can't wait to see the pics.
