PC big enough?

I bought a used second rig with a RavenIII 249ft^2 main.
The Rig is a old PDF accuracy rig.

It appears to me that the PC is too small, especially when i jump this rig with my wingsuits.

The diameter is 58cm or 22,83"
Material is ZP

any opinions?

I can recall when Raven III's were common as mains. Most folks I knew that jumped them, used 32" - 36" dia. pilot chutes... which was recommended. You want a pilot chute that will get that parachute out of the container and inflated. I'm not so sure about a 22" pilot chute, either.

Same here. One difference though - those pilot chutes were built of F111, not zp.

To the OP - you might try contacting Precision and see what they say.

Too small, plain and simple. That's especially true if you fly a wingsuit.

For general skydiving a 28 would be about right. If you fly a wingsuit then ideally an f-111 36. Current experienced wingsuit pilots would be a good source of info. Go ask or search the wingsuit forum this same question.

There are a lot of wingsuit pilots that have more practical knowledge. Many are BASE enthusiasts with a very good understanding of flying a wingsuit and deployments.

Parachute users are the reason manufacturers make changes.

Many thanks for your quick answers. I have an older (but not too old)F111 33" PC at home.
I think, i try this size for the first jumps and buy next week a slightly bigger.

Remember to ask in the wingsuit forum as well. If you do fly a wingsuit, remember a 9 foot bridle is highly suggested. (from pin to base of pilot chute).

If the 33 is properly made and in good condition mounted on a 9 foot bridle, it would be fine.

I try the 33"....very fast from throw to deployment, bridle attachment point looks also very good, after multiple speed deployments.
