I'm not sure he was aware, or, if he was, that anything could've been done; velocity would've taken over (you can see him "bottom out" and swing up very quickly...he wasn't in charge). If you watch the vid closely, it starts a bit earlier - the wing gets wobbly in the series before - the 360s. He was pushing the wing way past it's limits.
