windcatcher 0 #1 July 20, 2006 I thought this would be a thread lots of people could contribute to, since a lot of us enjoy bragging about our pets. What is the cutest or weirdest thing you've ever seen your pet do? I'll start. Since we've only had Yukon for a month, I can only imagine the things to come...but the cutest thing so far that he's done, is try and bury a lttle Milkbone dog biscuit in the couch! I'd never actually seen a dog bury a bone before...so imagine my surprise when he starts to bury a small bone-shaped treat. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world... guppie01 0 #2 July 20, 2006 My oldest likes to play hide n seek. He'll run through the house into the kitchen jump onto his hind legs while pulling the cuboard open with his front paws and runs in to hide. When you walk past the cuboard calling his name he'll jump out to scare you and quickly run away. It's so much fun to watch his eyes light up - sneaky lil bastard!!!! g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" Nightingale 0 #3 July 20, 2006 My cat, Indiana, has got to be one of the strangest cats on the planet... or just not very bright. I'm not sure which. Weirdest: fall into the fish tank while chasing plastic fish Cutest: fall asleep in the lap of a teddy bear ten times his size He's also managed to: get drunk run into a closed window trying to get a bird on the other side...three times in a row knocked the other cat out of the window gotten his face stuck in a water glass...twice fallen in the toilet and closed the lid oh... forgot about these: shreds entire bins of newspapers til my entire living room is covered in grey fuzz lines up every single toy fur mouse with noses in a perfect straight line outside my bedroom door when he knows I'm annoyed with him

TMorita 0 #6 July 20, 2006 I had a friend with a very smart cat. The cat would: o Climb up on the railing and push the doorbell button when he wanted to come inside o Look both ways before crossing the street Another friend's cat had the bad habit of pulling electrical cords out of sockets in the middle of the night. She would be late for work occasionally (no, I wasn't her manager). Same cat liked to carry empty toilet paper rolls around the house. She came home one day, and her cat met her at the door sopping wet! She followed the trail back to the bathroom, and found an empty toilet paper roll in the toilet....so apparently he'd been carrying the toilet paper roll around, accidentally dropped it in the toilet, and been trying to fish it out with a paw, and fallen in. Shotgun 1 #7 July 20, 2006 That's cute. My cat Iggy "kills" his toy (plastic mouse, guitar string, rubberband, whatever...) and then he carries it over to his food bowl and leaves it in his bowl while he eats his kibbles.
davedlg 0 #8 July 20, 2006 My roommate's dog, Sierra, is a pitbull and has to be the smartest dog I have ever seen. Last night my other roommate's dog, Jerry, (whom, I might add is not exactly the smartest dog in the world) came in with a large stick and proceeded to begin shredding it in the living room. I told sierra "Take the stick from Jerry and take it outside." She did exactly that...she walked up to jerry, took the stick from him and took it outside. I have never seen a smarter dog when it comes to understanding what people want from her.

MF42 0 #11 July 20, 2006 I had a dog named Duke who howled along with ambulance sirens. And I don't mean he just howled when he heard a siren; he actually sang along, matching the siren's note as it rose and fell. "OwoooooOOOOOOooooooOOOOOoooooOOOOO." Duke also liked to sit in the middle of a group of people having a conversation. He listened intently as different people spoke, head swiveling back and forth like he was watching a tennis match. When Duke felt the timing was right, he added his thoughts to the conversation: "Rowoowahwahuuurrhyah." I always responded, "I agree with Duke," and he wagged his tail.Maybe you had to be there. TMorita 0 #12 July 20, 2006 My brother has a cat named Pug (well, actually he's his wife's, but anyway...) whom we suspect is part Siamese. When he moved into a new apartment, there was no furniture, and Pug would wander around the empty apartment complaining. He would meow like this: mrrrroooOOOwwwwOOoowwwrrrRRRoowwwRRRoowwwWOWOWowowoWOWOWWRRRRRrrr. He normally doesn't meow at all, too. First time I'd heard him meow, and it was a bit unnerving. TMorita 0 #14 July 20, 2006 My brother's other cat, Dot, is paranoid about balloons...she absolutely HATES them. My brother learned this when he had a silver mylar balloon in his livingroom for a while. Dot would NOT go into the living room. He tried to carry her over near the balloon, but she scratched the hell out of him to get out of his arms. His wife has a "scrunchie bin" in the closet, and Dot's favorite place to sleep is in the scrunchie bin. She's kind of a bitchy cat and hates to be picked up, but sometimes she'll come over and poke you in the arm with her paw because she wants to play fetch with wadded paper balls. TMorita 0 #17 July 20, 2006 A friend of mine lived with her boyfriend for a while, and when they were at the grocery store, there was a girl outside giving away kittens, and the kittens were so cute that they adopted one. The kitten was really scrawny, so they named her Kat-lean. (*thud*) Anyway, Katlean was the ultimate hunter kitten. I live in California, she lives in Oregon, so I drove up one weekend and arrived at their house around 1 am, and the door was unlocked so I let myself in. Katlean was running around entertaining herself. I had a laser pointer with me, so I spent about an hour playing with her, running the red dot across the floor and up the wall and under the chairs before my friends woke up and noticed I had arrived. Michele 1 #23 July 21, 2006 Turtlespeed, that's a funny video. That behavior is called "chitting", and is thought to demonstrate precursor hunting focus (they've spotted the prey, but haven't quite gotten around to pouncing). Some people believe the cat tries to imitate the bird sounds so as not to alarm the birds...not sure I believe that; I think they just get all excited and chitter away. I've not seen one "howl" quite like that, though. ROFL. Thanks for linking that...and thanks to the others who've linked the kitty videos...too funny, and provided me with a much needed giggle today. bbarnhouse 0 #24 July 21, 2006 Well evidently my little chihuahua is a panty stealing puppy! The dog sitter was here this past week and left her satchel open. When she arrived at the house after work, she found her bras and panties all strewn about the yard Just like a boy! My jack russell hates hot air balloons. Each morning as it is filling, she goes nuts. She is also camera shy and will hide under the bed when she sees the camera in my hand. Simply isn't right I tell you. soulshine 0 #25 July 21, 2006 My pup has three legs so damn near everything she does is different than most dogs, and funny as hell. My favorite is when she runs, it's more of a bunny hop and absolutely adorable. She also loves to shove her head in my slippers and then roll around on the floor while fighting the slipper to get it off. When she finally wiggles her head out she gives me a "what the fuck are you lookin' at?!" sort of look. I laugh my ass off every time.
