Hera88 0 #1 July 21, 2006 I'm new to the sport, and love it! I've done two tandems. The first tandem I drove myself to the dz, pulled off to the side of the road 6 times. Took AFF class, but couldn't afford to jump the same day. Plan to do first jump on Aug 5th. Scared to death to do the first jump, but that's what keeps me going back. This is an expensive, and addictive sport. I'm constantly trying to figure out how to get more $$$ to jump again. Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... I gradually started buying the bare necessities. Then I rediscovered skydiving. Now I look around my place and think, "Hey, I've got a bed and a chair. What more does the place need, really?" Quality furniture is far too expensive to consider buying when I've got a skydiving habit to feed. My roommates dropped a bomb on me after I came back from doing my AFF this past weekend. "While you were gone we looked at a house and we can't pass it up. It's gonna be $700 to get in." What the fuck! That's like, half the cost of a starter rig. Or a good amount of jumps working towards my A. Coach jumps.. I have been going crazy the past few days selling shit that I don't need any more. I have to get in at least a few jumps this weekend, weather permitting. Soon you'll be selling your posessions to fuel the desire to jump. Just wait.. And by the way, don't worry about your first AFF. It's a piece of cake.. especially if you've already done two tandems, because you won't be overwhelmed. I also did two tandems before starting AFF, so you'll be fine brotha.
