jumpjunkie2004 0 #6 July 28, 2006 Bad solution - I'm sure of it, but I drink a couple of glasses of red wine. If I exercise at some point during the day, it's much easier to fall asleep at night. Do you exercise?Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

Pia 0 #9 July 28, 2006 QuoteWhat's a good sleeping pill that doesn't make you feel icky once you wake up? Zopimed's brilliant, I suffer from insomnia take half and it works like a bomb Not a long term solution either, but every now and then it helps Even if you do lie in bed and cant sleep, don't stress yourself out about it. If you just relax and "rest" apparently its good enough.**Those who refuse to live and learn simply exist**
selbbub78 0 #10 July 28, 2006 Yes, yes it does suck! Especially when you have too much on your mind and you just can't. I'll try to read, but if it's a real interesting book, research journal it's tough. Usually, I'll just try to be energetic, and hope eventually that I'll burn up enough energy to fall asleep. If something is bothering me, I usually write down what I'm feeling and whatnot. That helps to. The important thing is though, the next day NOT to take a nap when you're tired, and force yourself to stay up until a 'normal' hour, then go to sleep. goodnplentygirl 0 #12 July 28, 2006 I feel your pain, I suffered with insomnia for months. I suggest you go see a doctor. I was a dumbass and was trying to ignore it because I hate going to the doctor, but it only got worse. He gave me Ambien CR. It worked well and I felt fine in the mornings. my body, my choice
StreetScooby 5 #13 July 28, 2006 Quote What's a good sleeping pill that doesn't make you feel icky once you wake up? There is no such thing. I suffer from insomnia frequently. It absolutely sucks. Took ambien for many years thinking I was coping with it, but that's not a good idea (you'll start sleeping walking, and other things you won't have any memory of, including possibly driving). Now, I drink a glass of nice red wine once I'm in bed. That will usually give me 3-4 hours. When I wake up, I'll have another 1/2 glass. If that works, I get more sleep. Otherwise, I get up (like I did this morning after 3.5 hours of sleep). I've found that mj isn't a good way to go to sleep, nor is drinking heavily. I'm beginning to think it's just the way God made me, and I get to live with it. It sucks. We are all engines of karma
livendive 8 #14 July 28, 2006 Ambien works well for me, as long as I take it with enough hours before I have to be up. No hangover the next day. Ya gotta keep on top of your use though, I take only a half-pill most nights, and none if I don't have to be on top of my game the next day. Then again it sounds like your insomnia is different than mine, with the waking up thing. My problem is usually just racing thoughts, but once I get to sleep I can usually stay there. ladyskydiver 0 #15 July 28, 2006 Luckily, insomnia is rare for me. I only have less than a handful of nights per year that I don't sleep...thankfully! Yes, I did see the doc. He's concerned but not overly. I have elevated MCV levels which to him is strange due to the fact that it's usually showing anemia (I'm not anemic) or vitamin-deficiency (and I have a pretty balanced diet as well as take good vitamins). So, he's doing extra blood work later this year to check for vitamin deficiencies and is going to see if they find something or if it's just the way my red blood cells are. But, as usual, he's told me if anything gets really wacko or "off" to get in "yesterday, young lady." Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably.
