micro 0 #1 July 31, 2006 So there was an AN-2 at Rantoul, right? This morning, at 9:30 we were piling into the car for church... Gabe, my 7 year old, notices this slowly lumbering biplane flying over our house... not too high, maybe 6 grand or so? I say that's an AN-2, it's very rare to see one of those! It might flying home from Rantoul where the big skydiving party has been going on (they think a "boogie" is what comes out your nose). so could it have been? he was flying a southwest vector and I live just about 1.5 hours southwest of rantoul, just north/northwest of Vandalia, Illinois. twas very cool to see the slow beast lumbering through the sky over our house.
