Spatula 0 #1 August 1, 2006 So I did my 79th and 80th jump this past weekend. 79th, hop n pop...nothing special....80th...well some cool stuff happened.... I had the opportunity to jump with a jumper I very much respect @ our DZ. He noticed I was on the load and only doing another hop-n-pop. He convinced me to go all the way up to the top. So I did, expecting a solo sit-fly (attempt). He asked if he could come with me on the skydive...FUK YEAH I said....He asked if I wanted to go head-down out the door for a bit then go to the sit. Sure, why not!!! I'm not sure what it was but something was different on this skydive. I'm usually a tad nervous, not scared but apprehensive until I get to the door. Not this time though. I sat on the plane talking with this jumper and just really having a good time. We talked about the jump, what we would do, break off, dump alt's, etc.... So anyways..out the door head down...and we were screaming (at least to me)...it was out of control fun. The difference I feel like I finally relaxed and let go some. I could really feel the air move off and around my body. I could feel the little adjustments. I nailed my sit...stayed on heading and level with him. Belly'd out and tracked away...dumped @ 3500. I got down and was completely satisfied. I gotta say it was a great skydive. Things just seemed easier, simpler...I could feel more than I ever did before. It was definitely a great experience. I gotta say though..since I left the military I've always felt something was missing...something to satisfy a feeling inside of me....maybe I've finally found something to fill that particular void.
