What handgun do you have for carry or are you buying something new?

My favorite gun to play with is a Norinco 1911A1 .45.I also have a Springfield XD .40.My other fav that I'll probably use as a backup is a Makarov PA-63 9X18. I'm a bit "fluffy" in body size so I think I can pull off concealing the .45 but if I try it and its a no go then I'll go to the .40 although I'm not as fond of it (I'd actually like to sell that one honestly.)So there you have it.

My parents gave me the $ for the class as an early birthday gift. Now I'm trying to hold out for a holster LOL!

Uncle mikes are comfortable and have that handy extra mag pouch, they can go on a web belt, regular belt, or mount reversed also will stay put on a waistband.

concealed rigs are nice as well, fanny pack, ankle holster, or higher if you wear skirts.

Also 5.11 pants or shirts kick ass...I wonder if they make it in a skirt for the ladies?

I have been a cop for 11 years and u/c for 4 years. Uncle Mike's are crap IMO. Ankle holsters are a bad idea also. Fanny packs are great if you want to look like an off duty cop and have everyone know you are carrying a weapon.

If you want a quality holster I recommend these. I have one of their IWB holsters and they are great.

I was suprised that they werent more espensive they looked great and for leather you cant beat the price on a quality rig.

I am sure you also have seen nice holsters for far too much money as well, and then to find it wasn't quite what you wanted.

wooh yeah there are few expensive ones on that site, but they are probably worth it unfortunately the one I liked was 129 bucks

I am not trying to dig on you at all but all of the concealment holsters by DH are $40.00 or less and they are quality. I have used UM myself in the past, I have even carried concealed with no holster at all. If you happen to get in a physical confrontation before needing a firearm, you may find your weapon laying on the ground where and when you don't want it to be. This is just my .02 ;)

Or encourage them to break into your apartment while you are gone knowing they will be able to score firearms.

I prefer to keep as low a profile as possible.

We have a gun safe big enough for all our firearms. If they can find it and get that big bitch down a flight of stairs inconspicuously and not get caught then they can have them.It took 4 big burly guys and some equipment to get it up there empty.Besides that, every firearm we have is insured.

My husband drives a camo painted truck..that screams "hunter".So its not like people dont already know we have guns.:S
