movie scene

Recommended Posts

I have just witness the new standard for stupid in a movie scene.

Generally, there is the "willing suspension of disbelief".
Something has to be reasonably probably for the scene to work.

In the scene, there is an airliner. A guy jumps off of a tailgate a/c to the nearby (10 ft or so), front wheel assembly of the airliner while in flight.

Who believes that crap? Even the general public can't buy that.

The guy jumps out a rear hatch and "catches" the front two wheels at 200 mph. Can we say "bug on the windshield"? Ouch.

Having exited from a jet at 150 and tried to maintain stability... I'd say... Nah.

I know it's been a long time, Bill, but remember back...

"How hard can it be to stay stable while skydiving? All you do is get out and fall."

I'd say that such suspension of disbelief is not that far off for your average whuffo.

I know, but they made it look like the old "jump from car 1 to car 2" highway scene.

Jumping from one airplane to an airliner successfully.

Uh-oh. While I was typing this, the "screaming attractive teenager" disconnected the autopilot by hitting the control panel with a broom (like they have these on airliners) handle until it shorted out.

Now she is going to land the airliner and save her unconscious b/f.
What a date, huh ?

dialogue "Ok, I have the handles... now what?"

I knew she was too cute to die.

"I can't do this..."

"Nicole, you're doing fine."

(headset goes dead)

"We've been cut off."

Concerned parents and control tower personnel tensely watch as hyperactive, emotional, and crying 19yo lands a 747 with no assistance.
:D

Why do we pay these darned pilots so much when you can do in-flight training in less than 3 minutes?

Maybe they've got Greg Gasson working as a consultant. :D

My dad said his home was hit with 150mph winds this past hurricane season in Fl. He said, "Can you imagine what a 150 mph wind feels like?" I said "yep, i know exactly what it feels like. well sort of.":D

I know what 224 mph feels like, hehehe... :D
