RB_Hammer 0 #1 June 14, 2007 Does anyone have any experience with the Matter Clothing Tracer tracksuit? I am very interested in getting into wingsuit flying when I get enough experience. Does it make sense to start with something like this or is it different enough from a 'real' wingsuit to make the experience using it not applicable to a full wingsuit? Thanks in advance for all replies. Tracer Tracksuit"I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." LouDiamond 1 #2 June 14, 2007 Quote Does it make sense to start with something like this... In short yes. However, the tracer won't give you wingsuit performance, meaning you won't be able to flock with people in wingsuits. Cedric and I talked about the tracer when he was in Eloy and he doubts that even a really good tracker would be able to stay with any of the smaller wingsuits. It will however give you flights similar enough to a wingsuit flight that you can safely start working on things like your flight plan and pulling using the wingsuit pull technique. This will go a long way in helping you smoothly transition over to a wingsuit when you are ready. Several other companies make specific tracking suits as well but the only one I know for a fact that can fly with other wingsuits when flown properly is the IMPACT. Info on that can be found here Hope that helps you out. What is it that makes you say it is a waste of money? Will the experience I get from the track suit going to be useless when I can start flying a wingsuit? I was very drawn to the design of this suit because it is very much like a 'real' wingsuit, but will allow the use of my current rig. I was hoping that using it, I would be able to start developing the muscle memory that will be required for flying the full wingsuit without the extra hazard of the full wings, both top and bottom. Is it going to be that much different? Early along in my AFF, I had asked opinions on going to the tunnel and some responses were that that too, was a waste of time, but I thought the time I spent in the tunnel helped me with my flight when jumping. I would be very interested in your comments as to why you would consider this a waste."I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." dragon2 2 #5 June 18, 2007 I've flown it, wasn't impressed with the top. The pants track nice though, similar to say birdman pantz. I didn't see much similarity even to a classic. However one wingsuit student of mine transitioned from it to a classic and then a mtr3 without trouble (he's not flying the mtr3 all that well performance wise but he's comfy), so it probably did help him. Still, I agree with the save your money sentiment, unless you want to use it for base. I'd buy birdman pantz over this suit because you can use the pantz later on for all kinds of disciplines. ciel bleu, Saskia
