PLFXpert 0 #1 August 7, 2006 Admittedly, I feel better about my own issues when others have it worse. If you do, too, please share your story and read others and feel better about your own miserable situation. We can even have a contest and reward the person whose situation sucks the most. In short, my beef is this: I'm probably one of the few honest people in sales. Another rep lied and cheated her way into my sale. She lied about things I said and did--all of which were awful. I stood up for myself. The sale is now mine, but not w/out looking like the lesser person. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "Way to take the high road, Carrie. It will come back to you." It never does. And I don't expect it to. That's not why I do the right thing. I do the right thing b/c if I don't I can't stop thinking about it, worrying about it and feeling horrible about it. So I make it a point to always be happy with myself and be able to get my full 8 hours beauty sleep at night. This is the first time, however, I've done the right thing and yet look foolish in return. I'm a bit dumbfounded and quite frankly . Now, please share your wretched encounters with awful people so I can feel better by the end of the day. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. Rebecca 0 #5 August 7, 2006 OK, I'll whine. But only a little. I have it good. Very good. But damn, when it rains it pours!! Months go by and nothing: no news, no changes, no major moments, and WHAM! 2 major personal life events, death all around, a pile of annoying obstacles, and then work gets extra-sucky at the same time. It's a bit much all at once. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

lawrocket 3 #7 August 7, 2006 Quoteplease share your wretched encounters with awful people so I can feel better by the end of the day. Hmmm. I've been an officer in the Army (no real need to describe the types of backstabbing assholes who exist in the officer corps). I worked in medicine, which has its fair share of reprobates. But, I am an attorney, who has daily contact with people and other attorneys. All I can say is that while I am occasionally surprised at the shit people do, I am never, ever shocked anymore at the depravity of human behavior. I no longer think that you can ever overestimate the possible depths of human depravity. My wife is hotter than your wife.

That's not why I do the right thing. I have to say that I'm glad to hear that we still have people doing the right thing because it's the right thing to do--even if it gets tiresome to see it through when the payoff sometimes sucks! It can be particularly hard to do when compromise seems to be rewarded instead. I guess I'm trying to say that I am so sorry that you're paying the price for it, but I'm glad you're still willing to pay. It doesn't change your work situation one iota, but you can just add my name to the list of people cheering you on. I admire that kinda moxy!TPM Sister #
PLFXpert 0 #9 August 7, 2006 Rebecca--Hang in there. That's usually how it happens for me; all at once. I'm biased but now I prefer it that way, actually. Just get it all out of the way now so everything is smooth sailing again later.Walt--if I only had your turdy expectations, I'd always be smiling. Lawrocket---Sadly, I agree. But, I still have high hopes. I can't seem to help myself. Jewels--Why thank-ya.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
sharimcm 0 #10 August 7, 2006 Here goes my whining-- My apartment flooded this weekend due to a BRAND NEW washer that was installed on Saturday. Home Depot pawned my problems off to GE, GE told me it's not their fault and call my insurance company, my insrurance company says call GE, my apartment complex told me I am responsible for having the carpet replaced, because it was MY washer that ruined THEIR carpet. WTF? I think it really is GE's problem, and they SAID they'll come by tomorrow to assess the situation. We'll see... It seems like bad things happen to good people. Icon134 0 #12 August 7, 2006 hrm... pretty much the only things that I have to whine about I've probably caused (in one way or another...) in the first place... so... I don't really have any justifiable reason to complain. (and therefore won't) I'm right there with you about doing the right thing though... sometimes it bites me in the ass... but at least if it does bite... I know that I was doing right... (and I do have to sleep with myself at night... )Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
PLFXpert 0 #13 August 7, 2006 OK, you win so far. I've discovered that I politely, but aggressively, seek to speak to a higher-up in all parties until someone gives in. What you know: It's not your fault. What you don't need to know: Whose fault it is. All you need is someone to take responsibility and pay up. Review your warranty info, also. Good note for future reference when buying any appliance is to ask about potential problems, etc. at time of purchase. I personally like to get it all in writing. Did I mention I don't like to be taken advantage of? When it happens, I don't get nasty, I just smile and hand you your ass. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. popsjumper 2 #14 August 7, 2006 I thought you were going to complain about the last cop who couldn't keep up with you and didn't want to be wakened again at 3am. I'm miffed because FJC classes cut into my jump time this weekend...3 consecutive days of FJC and no jumps. Afternoons were hosed by weather and a candy-assed transponder in the plane. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
sartre 0 #15 August 8, 2006 I have nothing to complain about compared to my friend at work. She just started with us, brand new job, not yet on our insurance, so she's on her husband's. She just announced on Thursday she's pregnant (not the bad part)-- and her husband got fired on Friday. There goes the insurance. So she had to cancel her OB appt today. And last night her washing machine flooded and stopped working. Poor girl showed up at work with a bag full of sopping wet laundry!!

misskriss 0 #19 August 9, 2006 That sucks but good for you for being a good friend. At least she'll be lucky to get good prenatal care. I proceeded to make a total ass of myself and convince everyone to hate me. My only point was that they take care of themselves & each other. I never said "I have no regrets". The negativity is too depressing. I am done. Regardless, I wish everyone a very long, happy life.
