Thanatos340 1 #1 August 8, 2006 Do you think other people’s perception of you is generally accurate?? Are you really anything like the person most people think you are?? In general I dont really give a shit what most people think.. But it does bother me when people have me totally wrong, Especially when it is someone I have known for a long time. I am curious how many others feel people in general just dont get them.
guppie01 0 #2 August 8, 2006 Most people perceive me as an obnoxious bitch! Yes, that is one side of me.... especially if they want to perceive me that way. The real me is much different. g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" Raddest Ho this side of Jersey #1 - MISS YOU OMG, is she okay? normiss 893 #4 August 8, 2006 I have found lately that there are a LOT of misconceptions...most of them have made me laugh. It's interesting what conclusion people can jump to with little or no information...other than that...fuck 'em...they prolly don't want to know what I think of them either! yardhippie 0 #5 August 8, 2006 hmmm... I dont ponder much what others think of me. I figure if im just myself, those that like me will stick around. Those that done, I'll chase down and stalk! Ive had a few that were pretty much off. Usually its in the work environment. I keep the bulk of who I am out of my work relationships. If i wanted to trade stories and drink beer with my co-workers I would, but none of them would understand the insanity that is my friends. PLFXpert 0 #11 August 8, 2006 I, too, do not give a shit. It doesn't even bother me when people have me totally wrong b/c they obviously made an assumption. People who have known me a long time, generally know me accurately. I don't like to put on a facade and thus, rarely do. I say rarely b/c if a professional situation calls for proper ettiquette, etc. I can certainly hang. But, it's far more comfortable to burp when necessary. In general, people judging based solely on appearances or one conversation I think almost always assume incorrectly. It used to bother me. I learned, thankfully, not to give a shit and what is really important to me. The latter is partially why I do not post pics. I don't even think they're necessary around here. I could tell you what nearly ever regular poster looks like w/out having seen their picture. Rarely do I open attachments. I like it better that way. If one really reads what someone is saying, how they say it and it just a little bit perceptive, then it's really not all that difficult. But, that's another subject... Am I the person most people think I am? I have no idea. And I don't care.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

lawrocket 3 #18 August 8, 2006 I, too, don't care about how people perceive me. I'm more concerned with my character than I am with my reputation, for what I really am is more important to me than how others perceive me. Still, in general, people's perception of me is pretty accurate. Thoughtful, intense, reasonable and pragmatic. Another one that comes in quite often (seriously) is that I'm a bit of a dork. I'm fine with that, possibly because of the fact that I don't hide it. My wife is hotter than your wife.
jumpjunkie2004 0 #19 August 8, 2006 I don't know what other people think of me, but... When you meet me, I am the same person I'll be a year later. I give 100% right from the beginning. There isn't a long getting to know me period. The filter from my brain to my mouth does not exist - so I'm very open with everything about myself and my feelings. Some would probably say that I am inappropriately open. I'm silly, clumsy, impulsive, affectionate and playful - like a little girl. I trust people right from the beginning - just like a small child does. I believe that everyone in the world has a good heart and that everyone should be treated with kindness and compassion. So...was that your perception of me?Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

PLFXpert 0 #22 August 8, 2006 QuoteWhen you meet me, I am the same person I'll be a year later. I think I know what you're referring to, the inner core. Otherwise, I would disagree. Skymama can tell you, though I'm still a good person and my core values and morals haven't waivered, I've changed a lot of my views and opinions as the years have gone by. One should never stop learning and keeping an open mind, even if you're steadfast in your opinion. It's still important to hear all sides, all the facts and consider them over and over, especially as new information comes in to play, which it inevitably always does. And there's truths and what is true and what we're told, even through legitimate sources and public records. I for one, am always changing. One thing one might assume incorrectly is that when I'm being stubborn, I'm not listening. Let the record show, I'm ALWAYS listening.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
