so the driver can pull the car forwards 4 feet or so & the blind person in the BACK SEAT can use the machine.:P (blind people take taxis a lot)

now are you gonna ask me why they say to stay indoors for high-pollution alerts?

Most likely reason - They don't want to have to produce two different keypads for the same models.

Another reason - people sometimes WALK up to drive-thru ATMs.
