First Solo (Pilot)

I'd link my first solo story, but it was in Februrary and all of my posts for February and March have been deleted. :|

I don't think they've been deleted, it's just that the search doesn't find them because the index is screwed up. Any posts from mid January to late May won't show up in the search, but I bet if you took the time to scroll back and search manually, you'd find them.

Actually I did try that; I searched through all posts made by me, and all of my Feb/Mar are gone. [:/]

Remember my first solo quite well , George frizbie , he was 73 years old and I was his last student in his 1939 taylorcraft that he owned since it was new , had about 9 hours and he says let me out up here , I said you sure I am ready I said what about the X wind he says you can handle it , 3 trips around the patch yeeehaaa .
Got my shirt cut etc , we lost ole gearge two years ago at about 93 years old and I told him when he was bedridden etc ,I said George I just want to thank you for teaching me to fly and he says , IT WAS MY PLEASURE , whats funny about the story is he had no insurance on the plane etc and didn,t think twice about soloing me in it .30 BUCKS A HOUR WET WITH INSTRUCTOR

Very cool, Dave!

Flying is another one of my lifelong ambitions - it's on the to-do list right after "winning the lottery"the baby is grown and moved out :D

Fixed it for you;)

Dave, great job. Just added another expensive hobby.
May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey

Thanks for the congrats everyone! It really didn't seem like such a big deal at the time, but looking back on it, it's definatly something I'll remember forever...just like my first solo jump.

It sounds like there are a number of us working on PPL right now. Keep us updated on your progress!

I was lucky enough to solo on my 16th B-day in a C-150. I later soled a J-3 Cub which was a lot more fun to fly then the C-150. I then was tought how to fly aerobatics which was a blast. The flying quickly led me into the skydiving world. Now I split my time flying jumpers and jumping. I still cant decide what is better. Anyway congrats on the solo and keep after it.

Yeah,

Do keep working on it.

I am a CFI (II +MEI also), and one of favorite things to do is share knowledge that I have.

If any of you that are working your PPL, or any other ratings, for that matter, and you have questions you need help with, feel free to PM me here, or email to jeff_agard @hotmail.com .

I am more than happy to share any info/knowledge/suggestions I have.

Live the dream! Fly!
