Its almost making it worthwile to post something political now!

You know what the problem is? The problem is the fucking Canadians. Even worse, it's the fucking FRENCH Canadians. We should close our borders to them, or, if we do let them in the country, we should profile the hell out of them and they should only get to ride in the cargo hold or middle seats.

Political enough? :D:D:D

I can understand the posters who are worried that these measures really don't resolve anything and in away I agree. However, think of the logistics, economy and time frames involved.

On very short notice many big decisions need to be made and need to be communicated to both travellers and security personel, to be implemented immediately. No training, no advance notice.

In cases like that, it is by far the easiest to keep things simple. No liquids and gels, with very, very, very few exceptions, is easy to communicate and easy to check. It really was their only option.

The only other option would be to not do anything, which I don't think is a viable alternative.

I agree that the whole system needs to be looked at, but that is a seperate issue from the reaction to this latest thread.

There.. I took care of it for you Remi!!;)

DON'T LET THIS GO SC, DAMMIT!

Got to the airport this morning.

About 2,000 people milling about. Didn't know what to do with themselves.

Waited on the elite line. It opened at 5am. Bag was checked by 5:10.

Got through security by 5:30. (Laptop got screned for explosives, parachute with hook knife went right though without a problem)

Sitting in the President's Club by 5:50.

Boarded, took off, landed.

Nothing's changed.

:D

Yeah, but but... I can't take my hand cream, or my bottle of water sniffel sniffel. Its only a matter of time before we have to fly naked and checked baggage won't be allowed. Its the governments fault, no wait its the slackers at the check points fault. sniffel sniffel. LOL

The resort was a BAR and more Balinese died in the explosion than did Australian. and the Bar was NOT Australian. So maybe you should practice what you preach:| BTW I hvave been there several times so I also have "actual world experiences" :|

Look at France, perhaps THE biggest supporters of the Middle East economically and in culture. You saw what happened to them back in October/November. How many cars were burned? 15,000 (close to that). France tried telling the world its because of an employment policy. When is the last time you saw somebody in any of our states go out and torch the town because of an unpopular "employment policy"?
