ntrprnr 0 #1 August 15, 2006 Background: Yesterday, a rather large client, who is merging with another company, told me that the new CEO is probably going to choose to go with the other company's agency, despite my being better at what I do. It's out of their hands, but the other agency will probably fuck up and I'll be rehired within 60 days. Lovely. Especially since they're a rather large paying client. so, with that said, I woke up at 3am to catch a flight, and while driving to PHX, remembered this dream I had sometime between 9pm and 3am... this one was totally me - I wanted to see something close to the ground, so deliberately didn't pull until really low. When I went to pull, I remembered that my canopy has an 800-1000 foot snivel, so I decided to pull my reserve, instead. I had my hand on my hackey, but shoved it back in and went for my reserve handle. Of course, it took forever for me to pull it, and it didn't want to pull, and I pulled my cutaway handle for no reason first, and then my reserve handle took forever to come loose, and when I finally did, it opened really slowly (and was Fire Engine Red, as opposed to solid white.) It was like 85% open when I hit the ground, I hit the ground fine, stood it up, and walked back to get it packed to jump again. Weird. Think it has to do with the crappy client news? Or was it just a dream for the sake of being a dream?_______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." I have had several dreams like that where I just walk away. Dumpster 0 #4 August 15, 2006 I think it's the damn plate tectonics again. It's gotta be stopped. Messing with the price of oil, too, and it makes canopies snivel too long. More seriously, your dream probably means you'll be looking for job, but while on your search you'll do alot of jumping, which is a good thing. Make sense? Easy Does It
goofyjumper 0 #5 August 15, 2006 I have had dreams like that lots of times. Probably more so when ever I am stressed. And I noticed I had alot more of the skdiving dreams when I first started skydiving. I had a dream that when my chute didn't open, I just cupped and landed fine.......weird It is probably stress.----------------- I love and Miss you so much Honey! If the search function was working properly, I'd find the thread in which we talked about how many skydivers have had some variant of that dream (bounce, get up, dust off, and sheepishly look around to make sure nobody saw). ntrprnr 0 #8 August 15, 2006 Yeah, I've had them before, too... Just wondering if there's a tie-in... Usually, I just go jump, and I don't have them for a while. Also, there's never any wind noise... That's an interesting thing I just noticed. Also, no idea what the red reserve meant... More vivid than other sd dreams of late... Hmmm.... Thanks all for the insights!_______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
