Misslmperfect 0 #1 August 16, 2006 ok, i just watched this movie. ill admit that my grip on middle eastern geopolitics is severely lacking...but this movie just didnt make a lick of sense. so many loose ends and so many things left, to ME, unexplained. anyone get it?Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison! Misslmperfect 0 #3 August 16, 2006 i cant put my finger on it. it seems like there was never any adequate introduction to ANY character, especially the more minor roles, and really no explaination of their relationships to each other. i really dont know where to start with stating where im confused...that wasnt much help, was it? Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
Amazon 7 #4 August 16, 2006 Uh.. Start here.. http://syrianamovie.warnerbros.com/synopsis.html As far as a grounding in ME politics.. well there is PLENTY of reading to do if you want to understand the movie from that viewpoint.
bob.dino 1 #5 August 16, 2006 My grip on Middle Eastern geopolitics is pretty firm, and I found the movie scattered and uninvolving.
Misslmperfect 0 #6 August 16, 2006 while it would be helpful, i do hope that having a grasp on middle eastern politics is not crucial to following the movie..and i'm glad i'm not the only one who thought it scattered. (thats the perfect word) i WAS looking for some kind of summary of the movie..thanks for that! and as for reading up on the happenings in that part of the world, i would like to - so any reccomendations you have would be appreciated Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison! Peej 0 #8 August 16, 2006 This was the first movie that ever made me feel stupid. I mean really stupid. I had more idea of what was going on in "Mulholland Drive" than i did in Syriana. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
