I'm sowy.[:/] They don't sell puppies? Just horse stuff? That's a bummer for non-horse people. It's kinda funny. the Pet Smart here sells all kinds of pet supplies, fish, lizards, puppies, etc. but, no horse stuff! I go to the local farm and ranch supply for stuff.

The landlord won't let me have pets. And Mike says that even if I could, it would hamper road trips. [:/] (Just between us...I'd like a puppy!)

But I make up for it on the outside and feed the birds. I've got LOTS of birds that show up...including "hummybirds!" :)
This is a brand new Petsmart. I've never seen stuff like this at Petsmart before, either.

I guess, feeding the birds is fun. You get to see different kinds birds. They kinda' get like pets. It's just not the same as a puppy. How, do you hug a bird?

<big sigh.> Yeah...I know. I say the same thing about the two little fish I have in the house. [:/]

Many of the people who come to Aggieland have puppies. Lessee...there's 2 Yorkies, a Pomeranian and 2 Huskies. At least for a little while, I get some furry friends. :)

I didn't forget Rip. Rip's not a puppy. He's about 5 years old. Besides, Rip thinks he's a human...not a dog! ;)

No wonder I don't fit in...I'll have to ditch my Confederate flag boxers and my Skoal cap with the greasy bill.

Gee I always think of getting close to Texas driving east on Interstate 10 from CA... AZ....NM...... as an overwhelming stench of hydrocarbons in the air...it permeated everything.:o

Yup. That it is. You can *see* the plums as you near El Paso on I-10. Its worst if you look south as you near El Paso as well. Then again, if someone is basing their opinion on El Paso for the whole state of TX, they have absolutely no clue about TX. They haven't seen the hill country, the plains, the thick forests, the coast, the gentle rolling hills of N. TX...well, basically, if you base your opinion of TX on any given spot having never been anywhere else, you're missing out. Its an incredible state with a great deal of diversity across the different regions of the very large state. Even driving I-10 straight through the state will give you a better idea, even though that only covers a couple of different areas (even though it takes over 12hrs to drive across TX on I-10).

I think, a lot of folks think Texas looks like the old John Wayne movies. All dried-up and cactus! I've been the length and breadth of Texas and it's just like you said. I've lived in the Panhandle, 'The Valley' and West Texas. There's not a single bit of it I don't like. I still, choke-up when I visit the Alamo and have my breath taken-away when I'm on horse-back on top of one of the Western mountains, looking for cattle. The black skies at night with more stars than one could imagine. Yeah, it's quite a place! Seeing it from an Interstate isn't quite enough.

You know, I just got back from spending the last two days in Gruene, so I'm kinda Texas Proud right now! Man, nothing is TX like floating down the Guadalupe, spending your evening at the Grist Mill in the presence of Gruene Hall and some other serious "recent" TX history (1870s till present).

Its been a couple of years since I've been to the Alamo or to Washington on the Brazos. I might need to take a couple of day motorcycle trips in the next couple of months.

Ever been to Dublin and had real Dr. Pepper?
