In LA till Friday...What to do?

Recommended Posts

Other than Nationals, it has been 10 years since I have been to LA.

So make a list of stuff for me to do:

1. Already buying Sparky dinner.

No friggen way turtle. Hot chicks are at disneyland and you know it.
Just to clarify I'm talking about chicks over 18. Sickos.

I'll bet that there is a higher probability that you will be able to see more nipples at a strip bar.
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

Right by the LAX airport....But I have a car.

Makes me wish I were still living there, so you could buy me dinner, too.

The problem with those list are they are 100% tourist.

The The Griffith Observatory and the museum of flying might be options.

That makes a difference. I'll refer you to some of my old stomping grounds that are somewhat local.

1) Hermosa/Manhattan/Redondo Beach. Take Sepulveda south (you should be right on Sepulveda - it's the last major street that intersects Century before hitting the Airport) for about 10 minutes. It turns into Pacific Coast Highway. Past Artesia, make a right turn on Pier Avenue, and just travel up or down a few miles from Hermosa - preferably by bicycle or rollerbalde. Some nice places to hang out, drink, eat, and exercise. The female sights are nice, too. ;)

2) Take the 405 North for about 7 miles to Santa Monica Boulevard. Go West for about 6 or 7 miles. Right towards the BEach is the 3rd Street PRomenade - it's got everything there for one who enjoys peoplewatching. :P

3) If you are into a crazier nightlife, Take the 405 North past Santa Monica to Sunset. Go east past UCLA in a nice, kinda curvy drive for a few miles. Then you'll find yourself right in the midst of it all.

Take the 405 Freeway Northbound for about 25 miles. It merges with the 5 freeway. Take it past Magic Mountain and through the Grapevine (the moutainy area) until you get down the hill. You will be in the central valley. Go another 10 miles or so until yo hit the 99. Take 99 north past Bakersfield.

Drive until your radio is nothing but static, and keep on going. A couple of hours past Bakersfield, you'll be approaching Fresno (or, Fres-yes, as we call it). Rue your existence here.

Ron, there's always the windtunnel in Perris if you get bored!;)

By the way, appears that I will be working in Mission Viejo/Foothills Ranch/Lake Forest for a few months....just over scenic Ortega Hwy from Lake Elsinore.

Any suggestions for around that genral area for weeknights?
Suggestions for the best way to drive on the weekend to Lake Elsinore and/or Perris?

Thanks!
Marc
