Ashtanga 0 #1 August 16, 2006 Have you ever said, "Been there...done that?" I gave up everything to skydive and now I am giving up skydiving for everything. After a long thought process I have decided that I want to focus on my career and not daydream about the sport I once dreamt about. After returning to the sport I realized that there is just not the adreneline rush that I once had. I don't really get excited anymore. I get excited about other things. And I will pursue those. I will have my Private Pilots License by the years end. Blue Skies and "Party On!"

quade 4 #6 August 17, 2006 Hmmph! I retract my " . . . good luck to you. We wish you well." then! The entire topic is really funny to me anyway since the only thing really keeping me connected to the sport at this point is the social interaction. Without my friends at the dropzone, I doubt I'd be going at all. As long as I'm going to the dropzone to see the friends, might as well make 1 or 2 jumps. The two are, to me, interconnected. Without one, the other would have far less value. Further, giving up the sport yet logging on to a website devoted to it seems rather masochistic. Like trying to go on a diet and working at a candy store. Hence the question.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
sartre 0 #7 August 17, 2006 Or maybe he doesn't think anyone wants to stay in touch with you if you're no longer active in the sport.. There are some who can't stand it when another changes priorities. I've seen others who've made the same decision get taunted and insulted. Thankfully it's just a few who have expressed that kind of attitude.
sartre 0 #8 August 17, 2006 QuoteLike trying to go on a diet and working at a candy store. That's not a valid comparison. Unless you add that the person working in the candy store no longer craves the candy but really likes the people he comes into contact with at the candy store. skybytch 273 #11 August 17, 2006 You got to jump with me. I can understand how everything else has been kinda blah after that. Sell your Cypres, but don't sell the rest of your gear yet. You may get a chance to jump with me again in the future; you'll be really upset if you can't because you don't have gear anymore.
