PLFXpert 0 #7 August 17, 2006 They told me if I went into sales, I wouldn't have to read books. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
Dumpster 0 #8 August 17, 2006 How to Win Friends and Influence People - (One of the Carnagie's wrote that) I had fun while I was in sales - When was in my groove I could sell an ice maker to an Eskimo. Easy Does It

PLFXpert 0 #10 August 17, 2006 QuoteHow to Win Friends and Influence People Billy has this book, though I have yet to see it cracked open. I haven't read it, either. Is it just me, or does the title sound sooooo evil & manipulative? It scares me...I'll be reading Chicken Soup now.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. jeiber 0 #13 August 17, 2006 All books mentioned so far are good. Two more to add to the shelf: 'Who Moved My Cheese' 'Influence: The Psychology of Pursuasion' - I really like this one. VERY good info. Sorry, don't remember the authors... you can look them up on Amazon though.Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring! Dumpster 0 #14 August 17, 2006 Not at all evil or manipulative - It was written back in the 20's or 30's I beleive, and basically teaches good, basic human relations and communications skills. How to be friendly, capture and hold a person's attention, get them to listen to what you have to say in a non-threatening manner, and so fourth. Great stuff!! jeiber 0 #15 August 17, 2006 QuoteBilly has this book, though I have yet to see it cracked open. Like he needs it! Billy's just about the most likeable person I've ever met! Wish, he would come out and play more though.... Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
PLFXpert 0 #16 August 17, 2006 I know. He's just sickeningly likeable, isn't he. He felt he needed it for his business. I don't really think so, either. I agree, he needs to get out an play more! Scott calls him all the time and wants him to practice with them. And I can tell you, Billy really misses being out there swooping. I know he wants to give the tour another good go before (as he says, not me) he's too old. Call him---he's guilted really easily (just teasing, baby. (Billy stops in and reads here once in a while)). Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
LouDiamond 1 #17 August 17, 2006 Books are great if you have the time to read them. You want to learn about selling? Go to blockbuster and rent the movie Boiler room with Ben Afflack and take notes."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
