Good skiing in Vancouver, BC during early March?

Anyone know?

Whistler (which is about two hours from Vancouver) is usually quite good that time of year. There's smaller resorts closer to town, but really, with one of the top resorts in the world two hours away, why would you stay at a little hill?

The real question is am I invited?:D

PSSST from Vancouver.... its a better trip to head to Mt Baker... less people.. and cheaper:P

This is Kelly. I am anticipating more partying than skiing. The walkability and nightlife of Whistler will serve her well. :D

I saw Mt. Baker on the website I checked out, too. I really meant Whistler (because I've been there before and LOVED IT), but I didn't put it specifically, because I wanted suggestions such as yours. :)
And hell yeah, you're invited, Krisanne! B|

Please do. I SO want to go snowboarding, and with my big trip coming up in December, I figure a good time to head west would be during spring break. :)

Woo hoo party in the Northwest!

Now imagine me rolling on the floor . . .

Ok. Phew. *Wipes tears from eyes*

How's about if I'm just responsible for the lighting of fires under asses? Someone out there has got to be better at organizing than me. :D

When it gets closer I'm sure I can figure it out. :)

You just give us the dates. We can manage the rest. Well, as far as getting a place goes. I don't hold hands on airplane tickets.

Because big resorts are crowded and therefore get skiied off quickly?

The local hills, Cypress and Grouse are hit and miss from year to year.

Grouse is packed with the 80 pound meatmissles during the spring break time.

Cypress is ok - half the hill is decent for boarders - the other half is mostly black diamonds and just plain annoying to run. Go fast, falldown, get up, rinse, repeat.

Whistler/Blackcomb is pretty much the best bet locally - though the S2S can be anything from a 1.5 hrs drive to a 7 hrs drive, depending on how many accidents occur that day - and how bad they are.

You'll find better quality snow further inland, so I hear from the regular boarders here at work - in around Kelowna has earned a decent reputation - I have yet to make a trip that far in, perhaps next year - so I can't vouch for it firsthand.

Really depends on the weather like most ski resorts. However check out the elevation at the top and btn of the ski slopes at whistler.

If it's not cold the snow will be really wet. sometime the lower lifts are cklosed due to lack of snow.

Colorado OTOH has higher elevation ski area's with lots of nice dry powder if/when it snows.

Vail aspen etc forget it unless someone else is paying.

R.I.P.
