If your video card has two ports on it then you are all set. I run dual monitors at home and at work.

If your video card does not have dual plugs, get another video card and plug one into each.

The only issue with that is sometimes the colors are a bit off and it can get annoying if you are anal!

Are you wanting to show the same view on both monitors or use the two in conjunction as one big screen? The latter is what I do and I have a video card with one output that splits to two. You have to have a special video card to use them as one big screen.

Yes, use them both as one big screen. Problem is I dont think my desktop has an AGP slot. I'm pretty sure its all PCI and to my knowledge, AGP are the only duel monitor vid. cards.

Is this correct, or does PCI make one?

AGP and PCI-E can handle dual monitors. You can get a PCI card and use that to handle the graphics along side your exsisting card (PCI, PCI-E, AGP are ports not companies).

You can check out New Egg online and search for Dual Video. Not sure if you have a VGA or the newer style connection. Expect to pay at least $75 for one.

1. Plug in the monitor.
2. Right click on the desktop.
3. Select "Properties."
4. Select the tab, "Settings."
5. What type of display?
6. If it supports multiple monitors, it'll say. If not, run to BB and pick a new card with memory. Plug it in.
7. Repeat Steps 2-4
8. View attachment
9. The 2 monitor screens labeled 1 & 2 are positioning for your cursor drag (if the external is on the left like mine and you want the cursor to go left, set it up like mine.
10. If you want it the opposite way, drag the monitor 2 to the other side.
11. Highlight the monitor and Play with the checkbox "Extend my windows desktop on this monitor" till you're satisifed.
