billvon 3,120 #1 May 29, 2007 Got a Freezr II about six months ago, and I've liked it a lot. But a few weeks ago the visor started to flip open in freefall, usually right after exit. Upon closer examination the lip of the visor (where it snaps over the posts) is starting to crack; I think that made it just flexible enough to come open in freefall. So I extended the posts about .05" with a washer (see picture.) Just unscrewed the posts, put the washer on (I used a thin 4-40 washer) and tightened them back down. Seems to fix it. Lokhmaty 0 #2 March 22, 2009 Got mine Mk2 and tried it wind tunnel. Cool and nice helmet, but same thing happened to me. Visor flip open while barrel rolls and I almost lost my glasses. I am just wondering how your fix is working? Is that fixed the problem? Or anything else needs to be done? I was thinking whole day about making some sort of stoppers, plastic cups that will be blocking visor on posts. Or even redo the posts like a little hooks that will be directed down and sort of keep visor from opening.
racerman 0 #3 March 22, 2009 The tab on my Freezr broke off in the plane and that was all she wrote. It wouldn't stay closed, opening in freefall. It's hard to fly while you're holding your visor closed so you don't loose your glasses!! Love the helmet though, just fix the visor problem especially when a new visor costs $95.

NWFlyer 2 #6 April 8, 2009 Quote The best fix for the Freezr is to wear a MAMBA!!! Mamba's a nice helmet, but it's not for everyone. I bought a Mamba (at the time, it and the original FreeZR were the only ones that fit my freakishly large head), and while it fits, it's just not comfortable for me. I don't like the way it hits my mouth/nose. Though I'm not suffocating, I feel like I am and I just can't get comfortable in the thing, so I sold it almost immediately. The FreeZR II, on the other hand, feels wide open and comfortable. I just got one, and so far have only used it in the tunnel, but for my head/face shape, it's a great fit."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please.
