jumpjunkie2004 0 #1 August 21, 2006 Well...after six years as a stay at home mom, I'm ready to go back to work full time. I have a BS in Accounting with a Business Minor and 11+ years of experience. So...here's the question. Do I use a placement agency? I live in the Washington DC area. I'm going through the post online and the bulk of the jobs listed are listed by placement agencies. Anyone have any experience with using a head hunter?Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

Gawain 0 #4 August 21, 2006 QuoteAnyone have any experience with using a head hunter? Yes. Head hunters are generally pretty good (if you work with an agent directly), and in your case may prove to be very helpful since you've been out of the work environment for a while. However, most of the "blanket" solicitations online usually are a datamining attempt. My advice, for every job you see through a placement agency, find two other direct-hire ads. If possible, find overlaps too (i.e. job posted by an agent and a separate listing by the company he/she is working for) and apply to both. That's if you want to be picky. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! jumpjunkie2004 0 #6 August 21, 2006 Well, I've kept one toe in the water. I've been doing some contract work for a former employer - so I haven't been completely out of work. Thanks for the advice. I plan to be somewhat picky because I don't want to become a job hopper. Finding the right fit the first time is worth the extra time and patience.Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat... Stop it, or I'll kill your feel good thread in the French forum. And ban you from the soon to be Chinese Forum. And stop taking this thread off track. Some people are genuinely looking for help, and it is our duty to oblige them. Mostly.
