Twoply 0 #1 August 28, 2006 Anybody know why if I have a bunch of beers in during the day, I'll wake up almost every time about 1-2am and cant fall back to sleep until around 430am or so? A friend of mine said it's because of the sugars in the beer but I don't get it. I know most people sleep better with a few but not here.

skymama 37 #3 August 28, 2006 The more I drink, the less I sleep. I don't know the medical reason why that is though. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
misskriss 0 #4 August 28, 2006 I've read where alcohol can effect your sleep cycles. It may help you doze off initially but when you are in a lighter phase of sleep you will probably wake up and have trouble falling back to sleep. Usually the more you have to drink the harder time you will have getting back to sleep. And even though someone suggested it, please don't mix alcohol with any drug especially an otc allergy medication.
SkydiveStMarys 0 #5 August 28, 2006 I have the same problem...and yes, it is from the high sugar content of the alcohol. BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.
StreetScooby 5 #6 August 28, 2006 I have the same problem, also. I knew it was related to the beer, but wasn't sure how.We are all engines of karma
wmw999 2,590 #7 August 28, 2006 Hard liquor and wine can do the same thing, as well. You drink to fall asleep, then it wakes you up later on. I know people who have gotten stuck on that one. skydiver30960 0 #8 August 28, 2006 Happens to me too, especially when I get really smashed. I figured my body was doing it to me as punishment, so that I could experience every moment of the upcoming hangover without sleeping through any of it. And I hate my body for it.
