Blast From the Past

Recommended Posts

These old resurrected threads have me reading some of my old posts.:D

I've been on this site, I'm pretty sure, since the beginning. I see some familiar names & faces, but a lot has changed.:P

DZ.com, for me, is like having an online journal or something.

I was 20 when I first started posting here (freshly 26 now). I'd just started jumping. Then I'd just met Billy. Then I'd just met Skymama (who wasn't green back then and had less jumps then me.;)).

I was just about to start my junior year of college (the good, informative stuff.:P). I was just learning more about grammar/spelling.:o I was just learning more about sociology & psychology.:o And I definitely wasn't too much of a techy/html/link/etc. person.:o Well, I'm still not a fan, but at least I know how to do everything now.:P And it's funny b/c that webpage I used to have linked was a college assignment (that I converted for DZ.com). I was supposed to build a website from scratch using only html code. I had NO CLUE what html code was at the time.:D

And finally at 23, after graduation, I'd just bought my house and was finally no longer a poor, college skydiver.:D

It's SO funny to read from then to now. Some things DEFINITELY haven't changed and some have.

Anybody else get a kick out of reading some of their old stuff?

Yeah, I didn't want to draw attention to it, but in one of the resurrected threads I made a statement long ago that made me cringe.:S

I think it's cool that we all evolve and not always for better or worse, just older & wiser.:)

One advantage of being year-enhanced is that I haven't changed a whole lot in the last 4 years. I've been wrong about stuff, but, well, that's going to keep happening, isn't it?

I only post stuff I'm willing to have my family and friends read.

:D You're lucky. For me, we're talking between 20-years old and 26-years old. Those are some crazy years.:P

All I can say is: Thank GOODNESS Billy stuck out the 22-year-old year with me.:P

Me too. Billy reads this and my father's a smarty so I'm sure he's figured it out, too.:P Of course, I don't keep much from either of them. Actually, I keep nothing from Billy....

You know what's scary is I really do keep nothing from Billy and yet he still finds me irresistably charming.:S I think he's crazy.:D;):P

I registered right after I did a couple of tandems and had my AFF booked. I lurked for a little while and then jumped right in with the posting. Being a big mouth, I posted things that I definitely regret. It took me a while to develop a thicker skin and become more laid back.

No joke! Its the same with me, 20 then and now 26 and its been a definate growing period for me. I've had a lot of growing up just over the past year.

I try to ignore my old posts, to the point of nearly changing screen names a couple of times over the past year.

Nah. I'd rather own it. B|

Besides; I like my name. At least I'm an expert and not an aggie.:P

I've always had thick skin. But it'll be a lifetime or more before I learn to be as laid back as Billy.:D

From a sociological viewpoint, I think it's interesting to see the innocence of my posts at 20-years old; not naivete, just innocence.

Ya'll must have corrupted me.>:(:D;)
