Beer 0 #1 August 29, 2006 Anybody know how to check howlong a yahoo account has been active? I'm trying to buy a rig from this guy. A few things seem a little sketchy. I need to see how long he has had this email. If it was opened within the past month there is no way it's legit. I know about the rule of things that seem to good to be true, but he is willing to work with me and use an escro service. Thanks, Beer Learn to be happy. DJL 235 #2 August 29, 2006 There are many other ways to check out whether someone is legit other than their Yahoo identity. Ask to have a staff member of his DZ a proxy or ask business to be conducted through his rigger. Beer 0 #3 August 29, 2006 One of the issues is he isn't around his home dropzone right now. With a few other things going on, I figured this would be the final thing to push it past where I would feel comfortable. I sent an email asking if he would wait untill he gets back. It would only be a few hours drive to check it out and there is a dropzone I want to check out in the area. Learn to be happy. Shotgun 1 #4 August 30, 2006 You can search for their Yahoo ID in the member directory, but their ID will only show up if they have chosen to have it publicly available. And the date they signed up will only show up if they have selected that option as well. If they have done both of those things, then the date will show up in their user profile underneath their picture.

If you cant use the DZO or rigger as an informal escrow/middleman, run away. Chances are if your radar is going off, there's a problem. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
