ntrprnr 0 #1 August 29, 2006 He probably got fired, but brilliant. Audio, work safe. http://www.dump.com/links.php?link=1353026&a=1&b=1&c=2_______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
ifall 0 #2 August 29, 2006 I think he got a suspension with no pay. Can't remember exactly though, that happened a while ago. Seems to be making the rounds on the internet again. Great for a laugh though.

ntrprnr 0 #4 August 29, 2006 QuoteThats not a sense of humor.... thats mis-use of the 911 system. Which part? The mother because her daughter kept beating the shit out of her and she couldn't fight back, or the dispatcher with his response? Lindercles 0 #11 August 29, 2006 Quote Jim Rome has fans? what has world come to? he is one stupid m-fer. Jim Rome is a lot of things, most of which are justifiably criticizable, but stupid is not one of them.
jlmiracle 7 #12 August 29, 2006 I have an article he wrote on SKYDIVING - like he had a clue - which he didn't and didn't have the balls to debate it with me. He is a stupid coward. If you want a copy I can try to scan it in or you could probably just do a search on this forum. I'm being as nice as I can by just calling him stupid. jBe kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Lindercles 0 #13 August 29, 2006 Like I said, he is a lot of things. He's certainly an asshole. Judgemental, critical, prone to exaggeration, even ignorant. But none of those equate to stupidity. He knows what his fan base wants, knows exactly how to give it to them, and doesn't mind stooping to all of the above to provide it. And he has a hell of a lot of fans and a hell of a lot of money for exactly that reason. It may be unethical, but it's pretty smart if you ask me. Brains 2 #16 August 29, 2006 QuoteSorry for the thread hijack. I had no idea the can of worms I was opening. Michael, i agree with you but i also remember the day Rome talked about Roger Nelsons' death. I listen to him all the time and usually love the show. However, the things he said that day will stick with me forever. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
Lindercles 0 #17 August 29, 2006 Thanks Jeff. I went back and found the transcript of that show. Considering it happened in June of 2003, one month before my first tandem, I had no idea that it even happened, much less the impact it apparently had on the community. Edit: Even still, I wouldn't change anything I've said in this thread, except possibly to add a few more negative descritpors about him.
cameramonkey 0 #18 August 30, 2006 can you point me in the direction? call me a massochist, but I am interested to read those comments he made. I only met Roger a couple times, but he seemed like a good guy. Yeah, he had a past but he seemed to be a good guy now.Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
